I know doodlysquat about Ipads, but the wife wants one!
Looking at the 16gb model, it strikes me that 3 comes out around £369, and 4 at £399, so surely this is a no brainer? For the extra £30, you surely get the latest model.
If I am way wrong, can someone tell me please!

The iPad 4 has a few minor improvements over the 3, like an improved processor which speeds things up. That said, if you go to Apple's refurb store on their website, you can now get an iPad 3 (with 12 months warranty) for £315 - that really is a no brainer, the 4 isn't worth £80 more than the 3 (imo).
I can personally vouch for genuine Apple refurbs as being almost exactly as new!0 -
I have literally just brought the ipad4. I had gone in to get the ipad3 but the shops I went into said they won't be selling them anymore ?! I can't tell you the difference between the two but I am loving the ipad4. Though I would of been the same with an ipad1! lol!
I just found it concerning that ipad3's are practically obsolete already as far as the shops I visited are concerned.0 -
Shame you didn't ask last week, Ebuyer on Ebay were doing the ipad4 16gb for £299. As you can imagine, they sold out sharpish.0

On the face of it the 4 sounds the better choice with the improved processor. Having said that you probably won't notice much difference. I have been using my original iPad everyday (heavy use) for the last two years and have no plan on upgrading it as it does all I want and does not seem lacking for power or performance (I do not need a camera on it).0

I really must not write things like this as my iPad has just frozen for the first time in 2 years0 -
I have both the iPad 3 (refurb from £315 from Apple) and the Galaxy Tab 10.1. The iPad 4 is just a tad quicker than the iPad 3 and a few other small tweaks so if you like playing games it will be a tad of an improvement.
I have to admit that if it were a choice between the iPad 3/4 and the new Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Here the latter would be a clear winner for me as you can do far more with it and it's far more versatile and plenty of free apps etc.0 -
I am thinking of getting an Ipad and Which have the best buy as the Ipad 3 (not sure if they have tested Ipad 4 as yet!).
I am a little confused as to the cellular part. It seem to cost about £100 more to have cellular on it. If you buy one without cellular (just WiFi) can you add it later or do you just have to stick with what you originally buy ?
At the moment I would use it mostly at home on WiFi but I dont rule out needing it at some point out and about(maybe for work)."The time is always right to do what is right"0
