Holiday cancelled due to pregnancy

Photome - Yes, if we'd had any plans/believed that we'd be pregnant at the time of the holiday, I'd never have booked it. I've never had to cancel a holiday before so this is all new to me. People must cancel holidays all the time, for all sorts of reasons. Surely others are not also losing the full amount of the holiday?! As I said before, I would expect a cancellation fee - but not the full amount.0

Elsien - I read the cruise company's t & c at the time. But Cruise Nation have provided very little in writing - and it's certainly not clear. It sounded to me, at the time I booked, that they refund a proportion of the holiday. i think I'll just have to insist that they respond to my questions.0
-
Since Cruise Nation sold me the holiday, I have been trying to get answers through them. But it sounds as if I might have to go directly to the airline & cruise provider separately. As if I haven't wasted enough of my time....! ha ha0

I would expect you to lose the cost of the flights, which will be a substantial proportion of the total cost, as these are likely to be non-refundable.
Which cruise line were you travelling with?
Is there a breakdown on your booking form or invoice stating the costs of the flights and the cruise?0 -
Why would you expect any refund if you broke the terms of the contract?
The holiday is still available, you just can't go through a consequence of your actions, but you fail to see this.
You can get insurance to cover anything (if you pay for it) - if it was something you felt was any risk you should have included it.
No one is being rude or disrespectful - they are just siding with the travel company.Legal team on standby0 -
OP why are you so reluctant to name the cruise company, posters are asking so they can look at the t and c for you, and as Luci says the flight part of the booking is probably not refundable at all0
-
I wonder if cruise nation have booked it all separately. So the large deposit would be for the flights and a separate deposit for the cruise.
Terrible customer service though that they don't reply. Have you spoke to anyone over the phone?'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
Jillie, yes I agree - it might be that the 2 things have been booked separately... but I can't get any response from Cruise Nation. Since I paid my money to them, I feel they should at least be answering my questions. My only response from them was a 1-line email that they called a "cancellation invoice", demanding yet more money! They clearly don't give a damn about their customers. I would certainly never want anything to do with Cruise Nation again.0

Might be worth a call to ABTA'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0

Do you think she will tell them who the cruise is with or keep it a secret0
