As I mentioned before, contact Gingerbread, an excellent Single Parent Organisation that assists and advises on companies that specialise. I went on a holiday organised via their advice with my mum about 16 years ago!

May have been good advice 16 years ago but chocolate teapots spring to mind with Gingerbread now.

I usually book everything independent because the travel companies will try and charge you for 2 adults then add an under occupancy on top because there is actually only one adult !!

Book cheap flights and then find hotels where you pay a room price NOT per person.

Its this appartment, i hope the link works. The prices do go up in the School Holidays though. I couldnt afford it during term time and im lucky the school agreed to let by boy off for a week.

Have you tried pricing regular holidays going as two adults?

When I was a single parent, it was cheaper taking my boys away as a group of adults rather than pay child fares.

Thanks, i never thought of that!!

But when I get there and they see that its only one adult and one child won't they penalise me??

Have you tried teaming up with another adult, or another single parent? The deals get really cheap compared to what you would otherwise pay! The best is if you could get two bedrooms, and you can always do your own things without upset the other's schedule, if you don't get along. But just in case you do get along, it is fun with more people, particularly where you have children.
Look after your pennies, and your pounds will look after themselves!
