Talk Mobile and Voicemail

This may be of use to some people.
When I take out any contract i always ask the network very specific questions as soon as the phone arrives. One of them is about voicemail - i.e. is it included in the bundle (comes out of allowable minutes) or charged extra. Earlier this year I wook out two contracts with them; on both occasions I was very explicity told that voicemail access is charged outside the bundle at an extra cost. I therefore immediately deactivated voicemail on the contracts.
I am toying with the possibility of taking out another contract with them on a different tariff. Voicemail on that one would be critical, so (since there's absolutely No indication on my account or their website about this) I called to ask if it's included in the bundle minutes on that tariff. yes, i was told; so I asked again about my existing contracts. The answer was again "Yes" - much to my surprise.
Given that I had been told completely incorrect information about another matter a couple of months ago and i am always suspicicous of anything any network tells me over the phone, I called again and went through a different menu option to ask about my existing contracts. teh answer this time was the complete opposite - i.e. "No" - it doesnt come out of the minutes and is an extra access charge. I immediately challenged this, explained why and asked to speak with a manager - always an huge obstacle with all networks. Instead, they checked and changed it to a "Yes".
I obviously took the names, date and times of these calls as I will now use voicemail on one of my existing contracts soon. Should I be charged I will naturally make a formal complaint - though last time I did that with this network they completely ignored it.
SO - it may be that some of you (like me) have been told it isn;t included when (apparently) it is. If (like me) you haven't used it because you were (apparently) miss-informed you may now like to check on your own contract(s). Of course, many people will already know whether it is or isn't included because you are using voicemail regardless. Apparently different tariffs have different rules - which they don't seem to know themselves. Another "great" experience with this network - not!

If you go to their website and click on FAQ's there is a section covering your question. Here is a link below to the various tariffs

Just helped Partner's daughter take out a £10 TalkMobile contract with a Nokia Lumia 610 (pink - yes I know !!)
Specifically asked CPW store manager about voicemail and also rang TalkMobile. On both occasions got the "Yes Voicemail calls are free, but come out of your bundle". So, neither free nor chargeable if you have a sufficient buffer on your monthly minutes.
Will be watching out for the actual position on the 1st bill.
Incidentally, was going to go through Mobiles.co.uk, but she dithered a bit an their deal which I think may have been a 710, with cashback and TCB disappeared. So, take these deals when you see them.0 -

Have you tried following the links on that page? heard of the circle line in London?
I followed the link before having to double check. The 24 month link takes you here http://www.talkmobile.co.uk/paymonthly24smart.html
If you can find the actual charges for a 24 month contract's voicemail costs on their site, please post the actual URL. Won't hold my breath, but happy to say sorry if I am wrong.0 -
They have different rules for sim only and other contracts.Eg Go to
http://www.talkmobile.co.uk/payMonthly24smart.html and click on view all call charges.
"Call charges
Inclusive minutes on tariffs can be used for calls made in the UK to:- Standard UK landlines (starting 01, 02 or 03)
- 07 numbers allocated to UK mobile network operations
- Voicemail"

Thanks. My small netbook and failing eyes missed the tiny writing "callcharges" link at the bottom to that page.

Interesting. I've never actually visited their website before; my contract is on the CPW website! Should have known better than to believe the service operators who gave me the original information!0
