many thanks to coupon-mad I have approached the duty manager at Tesco yate showed him the photos of "the parking offence" and he agreed it was wrong but his hands are tied but will pass it further up the chain as they are tired of complaints from staff and customers.

Good, doesn't that suggest that the complaints are picking up and being noticed?!

Could just be a line they use to placate customers and prompts you to feel they're as much a victim as you. Follow it up yourself. Send a complaint to head office, along with a note of the duty manager's comments, just in case his doesn't make it very far (they often don't).

His hands are not tied at all. The scum are employed by Tesco.
As advised above, ignore UKPC but complain to Tesco head office.

If your wife is still unsure and still paniking, let her watch todays episode of watchdog, it should put her mind at ease.

That's great! And all the recipients of your letters will have had the situation drawn to their attention too which is great if they also get other complaints.

Supermarkets do take complaints seriously when there's a weight of them or a legal implication (such as Asda starting to realise they have to make disabled people exempt from ANPR time overstay tickets).
