I want to keep my phone number without a contract deal etc.
Options
Hi,
I’m working abroad for a couple of years and not using my phone and my current contract comes to an end soon. I’m with 3 and the only option they have given me to keep my number is a £10 a month deal of which I won’t use (if I take it, it’s going to cost my £240 just to keep my number that I have had for 15 years). Are there any cheap deals like pay as you go only charged for calls made or any other way I can keep my number without having to fork out a lot of money to do so?
Thanks in advance.

If it's unlocked how about Ovivo? they piggy back on Vodafone. £10 one-off cost.

Port it to a PAYG and then just send a text every 3m or how ever often is required to keep the number active. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
