Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Wed 14th November 2012. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all,
Brrr cold here this morning, got the fire on to take the chill off the lounge, off to work for me today.
Dinner tonight will be some kind of a chow mein. with chicken for us and quorn for dd, not sure of the recipe yet, will make it up a bit
Need to do a wash tonight and get it on the airer, rubbish and recycling have gone out today.
Dd at college, and dog to my mums this morning.
Have good days all xx

Morning everyone
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Overcast, dull and dreich here this morning. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock.
Dinner last night was pork chops, mash, veg and gravy, sweet treats from the tins for those that wanted them. Tonight we will be having fish, chips/jacket potato, beans/veg - the hairdresser is coming tonight - different day to normal and a bit later, so not ideal but was the only time we could both agree for this week.
Work was busy again yesterday, not helped by some colleagues who decide to take a coffee break when we're busy and people have been waiting for too long - none of our bosses were about yesterday - don't think they would have got away with it had they been around.:mad::mad:Consquently when I got home last night I was shattered and unsettled so pavs didn't get made - so must do that tonight after dinner and the hairdresser has gone - they're not awkward or difficult to make I just need to get on and get it done!:o
Think I'm more ready for my week off next week than I realised although I only work half the week, I work the busiest part of the week, and I haven't had a week off since my leave in the summer and before that it was early part of the year, have quite a bit planned for next week but just not being at work will be much less stressful.:j:j:j
Have a great day everyone, stay safe and well x

morning all,
Have stuck some lamb hot pot chops in the slow cooker this morning with some veg and gravy and i just hope it turns out ok, not had hot pot chops before but this was a home kill lamb and butchered at the new local butchers and they cut and label each cut differently to our old butcher, but im sure it will be fine.
Managed to talk to Mr S last night about how unhappy i am with my job but we agreed that i'd stay here for as long as possible and save as much as we can so that when we decide to start a family in the future i can leave full time work for something less stressful.
Most get round to emptying our spare room this week so that it will be ready for the night lamber arriving later this month. We put them up in our house as its off the farm and we are both out at work all day so they get to sleep in peace.
Hope everyone enjoys their day.0 -
Good morning everyone, sunny and misty here at the moment. Quite pretty to look at.
Worked really hard yesterday and got the project finished, so today I am going to physio at the gym, to do a food shop, to the library and then taking car to have the rear windscreen wiper fixed. I started clearing the glory hole under the stairs yesterday so if I'm feeling energetic I will continue that, if not I shall slump in front of the TV catching up on the Paradise.
Lunch will be HM butternut squash soup and bread, dinner is with OH here so bought a haggis when I saw one and will cook that with vegetables.
Went to my quiz night last night and we came joint 1st, lost on the tie break though.
Have a good day all, and hope all your problems improve.'Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.' T S Eliot0 -
Morning all,
Sunny here this morning:T
Going to the hospital in an hour to see my MS Nurse, then to town to pick up my new glasses.:)
Had a lovely beef casserole for dinner last night, courtesy of my cleaner Helen who made it last week. Don't know what to have tonight.
DGD was really grumpy and teary yesterday. DD reckons she was really tired. Nursery said she was okay though.
Have a good day!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Morning :hello:
Thanks for the crochet help yesterday
We kept miss tru's old pine bed, it was in pieces in the shed. I cut some off yesterday, sanded it, painted it and attached hooks. Just waiting for the power drill to charge then I can hang it on the wall. Finally we'll have enough hooks for all our coats.
Lots of energy again this morningI've cleaned out the chickens and Timmy's hutch, the washing's done and hanging up. One more load to do but I can't put it on yet, I'm still wearing some of it
Miss tru loves her new job. She's not allowed to do certain things til she's had a hepatitis B jab. For someone who hates being jabbed with a needle, she's actually looking forward to itBulletproof0 -

Nmlc I am dreaming about what your job is, just a little hint :rotfl:
So today will spent mostly at the dentist. I am planning on asking them to put me a bed in the waiting room.
My tooth is still quite achy but the worse thing is the dreadful taste I have and a horrible tongue no matter how much I brush. Anyway back I go again and see what they say this time.
On the positive side I will walk into town which is a good 45 mins there and back so should help with my weigh in tonight. Also want to pop into town to see if I can get a belt to match a dress I have bought to take away with me.
Tea tonight will be a salad with roasted sweet potato and chicken mmm
Better go and have a shower and wash my hair.
Have a good day all xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning all
Another awful night's sleep, got some stuff on my mind which is bothering meand I keep waking up thinking about it through the night. I'm going to try and sort it out today, but don't think it will be fully sorted. I was also boiling again last night! So much for a relaxing week off eh? :rotfl:
No plans for today. Think I'll just potter and try to keep my mind off stuff. I'm going to go for a walk/jog later. I've not jogged in awhile so it will be tough! I need to find a new route cos the one I normally do is no good in the dark/wet as it's not lit. So will find a road route later, even if I just walk it out today.
OS wise - laundry to be put away, WM may go on if I have a full load, freezer meal for lunch (soup or curry depending on my mood) and I have LO roast dinner from Mon to have for tea, need to hoover.
Have a good day all

Looks as if it could be a nice day.
Making DH boiled egg and toast for breakfast and then getting our bedding in machine so it can dry in fresh air later. Probably equivalent to a rain dance but can but try.
I have been waiting for large containers to store bread flour in so kitchen cupboards are better organised and after all day making phone calls and e mails discovered they had been posted to an incorrect address - 100 numbers out!!
Will need to stay in tomorrow as containers are being re delivered then I hope.
JackieO
Hope your dd is feeling better and appreciating the love and attention.
No idea what to cook tonight but the pork chops and veggie cakes went down well last night. Maybe some sweet potato cakes with some meat from the freezer tonight? Or home made fish pie?
Tempted by the idea of a bus trip into York and a browse round as it is ages since I did that and am fighting the temptation of buying a pie maker ( half price) which would cut down on use of oven a lot.
While dd is on holiday and away for a week it gives me time to experiment a bit. DH is delighted I have got more interested in experimenting with new cookery ideas and is keen on eating stuff faster than I can cook it
Hugs to all"This site is addictive!"

day off:j am more than ready for it too after a very busy week since Saturday.
Had a lie in and read my book in bed:) later I'm attempting a painting of a dog for a friend. Not sure how it will come out as the original photo isn't too good but I'll try my best.
Have had a quick tidy round, don't plan to do too much today.
JackieO - hope your DD continues to recover well from her op. x
Have a great day all xDo what you love :happyhear0
