Apple Store - Metro Centre

Had my first ever experience of actually buying something from an Apple store today. Needed replacement headphones for my Ipod (bought from Currys).
I talked to two members of staff, both we're very courteous and seemed happy to be helping me.
A big change from other stores I have been in recently, where the staff act as if they're doing you a favour.
Well done Apple - Metro Centre.

Apple an example of where funding a premium customer service experience is factored into the cost of the product. My farts hospitalize small children0 -
Sorry to put it like this, but you too would be happy if someone walked into your store willing to pay £20 for something of lesser quality than you can buy in HMV probably 10 minutes walk away for a fraction of that!Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0

Bloody hell why cant someone just praise Apple without people continually jumping on the 'expensive' bandwagon.
If OP chooses to spend their money in an Apple store, receives good service and wishes to post about said good service then why not let them.
Personal choice. One day people here might respect that.0 -

Because praising someone for good service when you are paying a massive premium on the cost of the product is absurd.
It's like someone coming here and saying the went to the Savoy and the service was wonderful - a big change from McDonalds.
It's true but it's blindingly obvious, as is the reason why they can provide such service.
(And I'll bet a pound to a penny that if people started posting threads about how the got a better product than the Apple equivalent at a lower price there would be plenty of posters trying to make out that the Apple product was actually vastly superior in some intangible way.)There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
An Apple thread with Azari? Surely not0

Apple threads amuse me because of the amount of butthurt that can be generated by the slightest criticism of Apple or any attempt to bring a little reality to things.
You see it everywhere; someone criticises Dell - meh, someone criticises Windows - who cares, but let someone say a word against Apple and there will be a massive thread with rebuttals and counter-rebuttals.
In a few years I don't doubt that the focus will have moved to some other company. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

Probably so, I own Apple products, similarly I own Acer and Samsung products. I buy what I like and what suits my needs though.
I still don't see why a company shouldn't be praised for good service. If I was staying in a Travelodge and received good service I'd praise them, similarly if I was staying at The Ritz I'd also praise them.
I just don't understand why people continually get jumped on for praising good service.0 -

As I said, it's because it's redundant when you are paying a premium for the product.
Apple also tend to manufacture to a very high standard - nobody can (reasonably) deny that they make some very nice kit - but that again is reflected in the price.
In reality it's the excesses of the fanbois that ensure there's often going to be a reaction to pro Apple stories. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

But strangely enough, it is a formula that is working for them. When was the last time you saw a quiet Apple Store?
It's refreshing to see that, in a culture where we demand everything to be cheap, cheaper and the cheapest, some companies can still stick to their principles and provide a quality product and an enojoyable retail experience without getting dragged down to the lowest common denominator.
I absolutely hate going into these 'cheap' stores like Primark and Card Factory. Crammed full of badly organised tat - they are absolutely horrible places to shop.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I have to agree with the OP, whether it has something to do with the premium prices or not, good service is good service, the particular branch at the Metro is where I got my iPad from too, very nice young lasses who helped me, wouldn't be surprised if they're the same ones the OP is on about!0
