For what its worth I have found coldwater fishes much easier to keep alive than tropicals.


Definitely get a light for your Orb, they can look lovely lit up. I recently bought the ilight and really like it.
You must leave the air pump running 24/7. If you get the halogen light you can put it on a timer.

I agree cold water and tropical fish requirements are completely different. IMO Orbs really suit tropial:D

In response to Basill, with the biorb, both pump and light work from the same 12v mains transformer so you could not work one on a timer without the other. I know you could get another transformer, but that is again added cost.

IMHO and experience, coldwater are not really suited to the biorb and I found mine to be more trouble than the tropical's to work with.

Oops sorry about that, I am now using a replacement air pump that plugs into the mains. My light iss the only thing plugged into the transformer.

I got a replacement also the Orb stock ones are so noisey:rolleyes:
