There is such a cruelty to it - you are desperate for work - and your own government forces you into a highly insecure situation on the threat of removal of your means to eat and have shelter. You get an interview, great! But who on earth are you meeting? You are a bit suspect that it's not at an office, but you really need the work...
I don't think I am being extreme here, just logical.0 -
I have just wrote the email addys down on my job search booklet along with the reference numbers and they will prob just take my word. Why would they question. If they do then I guess they can contact those employers. But I doubt that. They can see I am using the sytem daily so am sure they will have no need to question my account.
Somone has said you can record all jobs you apply for on there. Can you see that? If so how many spaces are there for other jobs?0 -

I hope they don't allow those sham job (commision only-you'll be a manager on £20k a year-in reality we will send you knocking on doors for charity) types to contact you. In the past when i've posted my cv online i've had an influx of emails from those scam artists. :mad:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. When you set up your accoutn here
https://jobsearch.direct.gov.uk/Account/Account.aspx
It then says
I authorise DWP to view my job data information
DWP can use your basic job data information to search for jobs on your behalf and save them for you. These jobs will appear on your 'Saved Jobs' page, as well as in your 'Job Results'. You can then view, apply or keep them saved for later. While this authorisation is not required, it is highly recommended to help make your job search more successful. Note that DWP will be able to see all your job searching activity, including your notes, feedback and saved searches.
So you do not have to give them permission to view your acct etc0 -
Oh yeah and if you all want to know where to add other jobs you have applied for like ones that do not get sent automatically via the site but you have sent an enail instea or you are adding other jobs like ones you have found on sites such as Linkedin, Reed, Totaljobs etc
Log in to your profile on the day you have applied for the job and hit the ACTIVITY HISTORY at the top of the page
On the right hand side you will see a box saying
Job search notes
Notes entered below will be recorded in your Activity history.
In this box you can type say for example
http://www.reed.co.uk/jobs/accounts-payable-clerk/22232831 Accounts Payable ref 22232831 applied to ford.04336.294@goodmanmasson.aplitrak.com
ONLY 250 words will be saved by the way
hit save and then this gets added to
Activity history
But only stays there for 91 days I think0 -
I don't find it any quicker.0

Hmmmmmmm,
Contact details seem to be rather strange,
"Contact information 2070 369309" In most cases it is missing off the leading 00 -
