29 when we got married but 31 when we got engaged

We couldn't afford an engagement ring at the time so DH bought one for me as a surprise a few years later - it was a lovely ring but not really an engagement ring (but I loved it).
We got engaged the second time when I was pregnant with DS (and we had been married 7 years by then). DH received a bonus from work and bought me a surprise real engagement ring. The smallest deed is greater than the grandest intention ~ Anonymous0 -
engaged at 19 the first time - didn't make it to the wedding
then engaged at 28 married at 29 and happily still together0 -
I was 25 and 11.5 months when I got engaged and 27 and 4 months when we got married.
Just so long as you're "ready" for that, or any other sort of commitment. DH and I had already decided that we were going to be "together forever", the engagement and marriage just made it more difficult to get out of.
