I don't see the big deal anymore as dvds are what I sell and they are 10p to list anyways as buy it now. FVF's are like 9% now so this is like taking the biscuit
After my initial excitement, I realised that this is the case with me.
Rather annoyingly last week I listed a £400+ item that is very unusual for me, and that is one of the few items that I would make a saving on.
I'll have to go through my selling pile and sort out the things that need a higher than normal starting price, but it won't be that many.
I don't see why eBay can't do free or 5p listing days like they used to. I'd be more inclined to use listing enhancements if that was the case, so they'd still get money out of me.

I tend to avoid them as the whole site just gets diluted with tat and junk. I set up a few test listings, let them go unsold, then relist, heavily edit and take advantage of the relist fee credit instead.

At the time of writing there are 187635 listings in Computing, 126191 in Baby, 352179 in Home and Garden, and 342780 in Collectables.

Have a look at the same category overviews on Friday to see how these categories have swollen - unless you upgrade to a featured listing or be very clever with your keywords, most people experience a drop in sales after these days due to the massive increase in items for sale.

The timing is perfect for eBay as a corporation - there is a sales lull between Easter bank holiday and April payday and plenty of people will recently have had spring cleans and tidy-ups over the holidays.

And I've failed to sell any in the men's and children's clothing categories since eBay decided to dispense with the sub-categories within those categories. I'm hoping they'll see the error of their ways and reinstate the original categories.
  • Hi all

Well I've been manically clearing the house to get things on Ebay and just got an email which says it's 10p listing day on Thursday :T The email said

For the entire day of Thursday 19th April 2007 (local UK time), sellers who list item(s) using the Auction-style, Auction-with-Buy It Now or Buy It Now Only (Fixed Price) formats in an eligible category, will pay a reduced 10 pence (£0.10) Insertion Fee per item they list.

So....come on everyone....join me in flooding ebay with all those items we just had to have and we put on our credit cards.....only to bring them home, use them once (if that:o ) and then put them in a cupboard never to see the light of day again.....well until Thursday 19th April that is:rotfl:

I do have an essay to write for Monday, but I think that I will attempt it this weekend instead of starting tomorrow - and using the rest of my time to list on Turbo lister:)

Wonderful! I have a few items lined up now for 10p listing day, things I want to start off at a higher price so this is a great way to do it.
I`m gonna list a great big houseplant - do you think it will sell?

Hi go to the ebay board here and have a read of some of the stickies, it'll give you some good guidance on where to start and pitfalls to avoid.

For 10p your item will be available to millions of potential buyers and you may turn unwanted goods into cash. Just list your item on 19th
April 2007 to take advantage of this offer.

not sure if this is the place for it !!!:T
