Orange and NHS Discounts

Hi,
I am currently going around in circles wondering if anyone can help.
Firstly I am due an upgrade on Orange so went in to the newly rebranded EE shop and told them I wanted the lumia 920, and want the NHS discount (which apparently can only be done in store and only when you take your contract out?!?), they told me the phone wasn't available yet so to go back when it was.
I went to phones4u who did have the phone, but apparently I cannot get it there as you need to get it directly from the EE (orange) retailer in order to get the NHS discount which can only be applied at time of sale, even though the shop is across the road and i could of taken the information over the road for them - the price was also going to be the same.
Next I have been told on the phone that NHS discount wont be available on the lumia 920 as it is only available on old phones and has only just become available on the iphone 4s... although i read that people on vodafone don't have these issues and simply ring up get the information faxed through and it is automatically applied regardless of where you got the phone and what phone it is.
I cannot find anything on the orange website and customer services is just impossible.
Does anyone have any information regarding this or how it works?
Thanks
Kevin

Hiya, I work part time for orange in retail, yes it's true that NHS discount (called perk discount) can only be added instore and at the time of sale/upgrade. You can't get it in a third party store, only an ee store. It's not correct that its only on old phones, the only phone you can't get it on at the minute is the iPhone 5. I'm not garantueeing you can get it on the 920 but you've always been able to get it on the other lumias from launch so I would be surprised if you cant. Also the orange store you visited would have checked this. Our store has just got the 920s in this week so it might be worth p
Popping back.
You may be able to preorder one in store, so ask about that. It's worth noting that perk is only on orange, not ee, so you wouldn't get the discount on a 4g tariff.0 -

Most helpful comment from an orange staff member! If they could of told me this yesterday, there would of been no confusion.
Thanks for this! Clears it up0 -
You can also get the discount over the phone using what was called "NHS Discounts" but now called "Health Service Discounts".
