    Hi All

Now I am a mere statistic of the government, I have been clearing out my clothes (a mahoosive task) in readiness for the move in with the OH. Along with the two breadmakers, two mixers, 2 hoovers etc that we both have. I can see both ebay and car boots will be doing well out of us over the next month or so.

I signed on today. Not a good experience I have to say but hopefully it wont be for too long.

Fat Knacker (the cat) is laid out in front of the burner and hasnt moved all day apart from to her food bowl.

I am doing a Nigel Slater butterbean cassoulet which also has sausages and bacon in it. The latter I have quite a bit to use up.

Tiglath - my OH needs to shread his paperwork instead of storing it in the loft. He has statements from when he first had a bank account apparently. He is 50 just before we get wed!!

On the plus side I have finally tackled the Wiltshire Ironing Mountain. Four lots of bedding were in there along with some clothes I wore on holiday - in September!

    Evening all,

Rain and cold back to-day....how unusual.

Dinner to-day was lo beef etc from yesterday, so no work really.

BIL(81) in hospital with pneumonia, he fell the other day and has been feeling very bad since, continues to smoke and have his few whiskeys, so I suppose that he is lucky to be alive so long....his wife is wonderful and really minds him as well as she can, they are 50 years married in a couple of weeks so hope that he is home for that.

Hugs to all, am decluttering somewhat but not as fast as some of you.

    Sleep well and stay safe.

  • Marie (((Hugs))) I hope that BIL gets over the pneumonia, just watch the hospital don't put him on the LCP :( They are prone to do that  Just tell Sis not to agree to a DNR, because that is when they take into their hands to assist their passing , they did it to both my Mum and Dad, I no longer trust hospitals.

I dragged my England rugby shirt out of the bottom of our ironing basket on Saturday, where it has been hiding since the Six Nations finished in March :o

Now I feel the opposite way after both my parents were put onto the Liverpool Pathway with full knowledge & agreement of their family, dad in 1991 and mum in 2005. I would not have wanted them to suffer any more than they already were, both with terminal cancer. Their district nurses and our GP (same one for both deaths) were incredibly helpful and involved us in all the meetings about their care. My grandmother was also on the LCP in our local hospital at the age of 89 with bronchitis and pneumonia and again my mum & dad were involved in the decision. Maybe my family's experiences are because we lived in what was then the Merseyside Health Authority area which was the area where the whole idea and process were developed and trialled.

Hello all, I hope you have all had a good day. I have not done much but I did manage to look around a few charity shops and get DH a warm top and some leggings for my daughters. I also emailed a chimney sweep who has given me a quote of £40 for a sweep and safety check. That sounds quite reasonable to me. I would love a real fire but need to get some advice from somewhere as its basically a hole in the wall at the moment. I will check with the local council about what I can burn, when it is ready to go. Hope to get a decent sleep tonight, and I hope you all have sweet dreams and sleep well. See you tomorrow God willing.xx

So why are hospitals given a government payout for each elderly person that they dispatch? My mother asked for water and they took it away, to me it is just euthenasia and I am against it
