Well the thought if you can't help me then go find a job or a wife comes to mind.
If you check other forums on here you will see payday loans companies such as Wonga SELL YES SELL THEIR DEBT TO THE BAILIFFS
Got both of those thanks.
Does PUTTING words in CAPITALS make the POST anymore relevant or helpful?
So you are advocating people do NOT PAY THEIR DEBT?
NICE!!!!!!!!!
*Exclaimation marks added for effect.
** Note to self : Next time constructing a legal file, just add random words in capitals, sure win.0 -
It depends on your nature as to how you handle things, if your a nervous scared person then worrying about pay day loan company threats will worry you sick, which of course is what they want.
If you miss a payment they will send you all kinds of threats and bump the payments up no end, they will send you threatening letters, they will tell you they are sending people round to knock on your door to collect payment (they don't do that by the way).
I have had pay day loans from mini credit and payday express (about a couple of years ago) txt loans and wonga (6 months ago) I couldn't pay them so I started to get the emails, phone calls and text messages, then the letters through the door.
I totally ignored the emails, didn't respond to any of them, the phone calls I told them I didn't have the money to pay them and no matter how many threats they threw at me it would not change the fact I didn't have the money to pay them, I then got BT to change my number, I got a new free sim for my mobile so the phone calls stopped.
The letters from them I chucked in the bin, I then started getting them from the DCA, after ignoring them I got a letter saying they were sending a rep round to collect the money from me in person, still waiting for him 2 years later, I threw them letters in the bin as well.
I haven't heard from mini credit or pay day express for over a year now so I assume they have given up, haven't heard from txt loan for a month and wonga for longer than that.
I don't actually give a crap what people think about me having a PDL and not being able to pay it back, I don't give a crap what names they call me, and I certainly don't give a crap about the PDL companies not getting the money from me, they haven't got one sympathetic bone in their body, if something happens and you can't afford to pay it back they won't listen and by giving all their crappy threats they really believe that it will somehow magic the money into your bank account so you can pay them.
I totally ignored them, didn't listen to their stupid threats and they went away, I did not, nor would not enter into a conversation with them.0 -
Hope you'll enter into a conversation with the judge if they apply for a CCJ?
If you cannot afford to pay back your creditors then you enter into a dialogue with them, seek advice from a debt charity adn work out a payment plan.
Hope none of your debts escalate over £750 (which they will end up doing) as that will allow a bankruptcy order. Although your credit file is now so bad another 6 year BR marker wont make much difference.
At least the Debt Free Wannabe members offer support in helping people repay their debts (if possible), you just advocate screwing your creditors over and seem pleased about it.0 -
iluvmarmite. You seem to be in a very interesting position where you actually have less moral fabric than a PDL company. You must be very proud."Chuck Norris can remain solvent for longer than the markets can remain irrational"0

Don't know why anyone hasn't pointed out the obvious that "unenforceable" or no, the OP would still owe the money and would have their credit file trashed if they didn't pay, thus making the whole endeavour utterly pointless.urs sinserly,

Nice.
So lets get it right, you borrowed money, you spent money then you went out of your way to dodge your responsibility to pay the money back!!??
Unbelievable.
Really.DEBT FREE AND PROUD'Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt'0 -
PDLC's have got their T&C's down to a T, as most have been trading in the USA for 20-30 years. only when the US government intervened did the PDL sharks move over here (as people in their armed forces with debts couldn't be sent to war!!), where our government has given them the freedom to charge whatever they want (and giving our government their cut).
PDLC's will try anything to get you to pay what you owe. some things they will try will be to:-
- auto debit your account everyday at around 01:00am
- constantly ringing you at work, home and your mobile
- send warning letters demanding the money to be paid (although, 24hrs after sending the letter they just debit the money anyway - some some sort of legal loophole)
- threaten to tarnish your credit report (this happens anyway if a loan isn't paid and its kept on it for 5-6 years, but you can just go to another lender as credit checks aren't always done, but is a very very very bad idea)
you just have to be sensible about what your getting in for....
would you give £1000 to a Big Issue seller?
would you buy an iPhone an clean it with sandpaper?
would you take a match to £1000 of your own money?
some may be ridiculous, but technically this is what you are doing by borrowing money from PDLC with ridiculous prices.
as for Bailiffs, it is in there interest to call round to collect the debt (on behalf of the PDLC), as have nothing to lose by hand delivering a letter & adding a huge fee to it (by seeing the debt increase your 10 times more likely to just pay it), but give it time and the bailiffs will eventually give up and move onto the next person, using the same tactics as they cannot force you to pay up, only try and get you to pay up!!
my town has around 10 PDL companies operating in it, which is just stupid, but there wouldn't be so many setting up shop if they knew they couldn't make money....
as for burying your head in the sand like iluvmarmite has done. at some point it will catch up with you, usually when you need to use your credit score the most & then you will just look stupid for £100 loan that turned into a £1000+ farce...0 -
The internet brings out some strange people. I always imagine them to be little bald men in their 50s who have no friends and a family who dont like him.
The OP fits my imagination perfectly LOL0 -

You said "Can I have £y of your money please?"
They said "Yes, we expect £x back"
You then terminated the conversation.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0
