Curry's sent me wrong item!

So it was my mother's birthday coming up on November 13th and I've never really had the opportunity or money to buy her a really big present and I'm a student. I decided this year I really wanted to get her something big because she does alot for me, so I looked around online at tablet pc's as I knew she had had her eyes on one for a while but didn't get one.
I found the blackberry playbook which she had liked before, was the cheapest on curry's website £129.99 for 64GB which was a fantastic reduction in my opinion from when it was first released (I paid around £200 for 32GB)..
So I noticed Curry's had a deal, that if you bought the item from then they would give you a £10 voucher.
I wasn't sure the Terms & Conditions of this, so I rang Curry's, they told me the terms and conditions were the item must be purchased online through their site and the offer wasn't available in any of their stores.
So I ordered away...
Almost 5 days later i missed the item and went to pick it up..on picking up the item it felt really light and i thought hmm that's odd. So I opened the item and it was a ink cartridge with an invoice inside to another woman of another address 100s of miles away..
As i don't have a house phone I decided to email curry's and give them 2-3 days to respond.
4 days went by and i heard nothing so i decided to ring them, the only option was via mobile phone due to the fact I don't have a landline, and in my town there's no local currys, pc world or dixons..the nearest store was almost 20 miles away or a 35 minute drive.
When I rang Curry's I spoke to a guy called 'Martin'. I explained to him i had recieved the wrong item and not even recieved the promised £10 voucher.
All he could say was 'oh well we're only human we make mistakes' and even made comments like 'well even argos have been known to do this'. After I told him this was meant to be a present for my mother and i was very disappointed with curry's he told me he would investigate the matter and speak to his manager, as for all he knew i could have just 'hacked' curry's system and got some client's details or even known her.
I thought the accusation of me being a hacker and knowing someone to try and steal a £30 ink cartridge was absouletely ridiculous.
Anyway he rang me back 10 minutes later and said, he had done some 'checks' and Curry's had actually made a mistake. The woman who's ink cartridge I had, had got my blackberry playbook a £129.99 item and i had her £29.99 ink cartridge.
So i was told DPD would pick up the ink cartridges on monday and my playbook would be sent out priority.
I explained to the gentlemen due to the fact i didnt have any local currys etc that it had cost me to ring on my mobile as the email customer services team hadn't got back to me.
Martin said he totally understood and would offer me my telephone costs back on scanning the bill call charges to the customer team and also a £100 curry's voucher as a gesture of goodwill for their error. He told me he would put this all down on my 'order notes'.
anyway I eventually got my item..almost 5 days later- not what I would class priority but was happy to recieve it neverless.
I emailed the team my bill, and they shockingly told me they had no record of me ever phoning them or any compensation.
And now they have only offered me £25 compensation.
I told them i wasn't bothered about the compensation and merely just the cost of my phonebill and their response was it was not curry's policy to pay phonebills as i could have gone to a local store 20 miles away, it would have only been £5 in petrol. Or i could have rang from a payphone.
I really feel this is unfair and ridiculous, where do i stand in terms of consumer rights? i've still not also recieved the original promised £10 voucher from their site.

Ooh that's a lot
so this is what happened...
You ordered a playbook
you got a cartridge
they've collected the cartridge and they have sent out a playbook. You have not yet received the promised £10 voucher?
You claim someone called Martin offered you a £100 voucher; they now deny this but have offered you £25 compensation?
FWIW this is my opinion -
re the £10 voucher - check the T&Cs; might be emailed.
re the £25 - accept it. I cannot believe they would offer you a £100 voucher for a £129 spend.
As for your consumer rights - they have been fulfilled, albeit not smoothly. You ordered item. You received item. You don't get 'additional' rights because someone slipped up in the warehouse.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

If £25 is more than the cost of the phone call and £10 voucher, take it!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Your call costs could be considered consequential losses - you would be entitled to these reasonable costs back... how much do they come up to?
The £10 voucher actually forms part of the contract (assuming you read the terms correctly) and again.. you are entitled to.
I'm assuming your call charges are much less than £15? So I would accept the £25 voucher... assuming you would shop with them again..0 -
Hi the thing is the phonecall due to their hold times was long. The phone ball in costs is £40. The fact of the matter is theyre staff have told me two contradicting pieces of information including about the £10 voucher.
One staff member told me it comes automatically anytime up until 31st december and will be emailed. Another staff member in a seperate email said november 7th which has passed.
Now they sent me a letter stating that they have given me a £25 voucher, but it's not even addressed to the correct address of mine and also states i can only use it in store and must take 5 forms of ID to use it.
The fact that I already outlined to them the nearest stores are almost 20 miles away in consideration to the factor it's too the wrong address and they're asking for so much ID to be bought in for this voucher.0 -
