I have gone right off Yankee Candles
The black smoke really gets on my wick
And I do trim my wicks each time before I burn.
The worst and last one I bought a couple of months ago was the Cherries on Snow.
Black smoke EVERYWHERE as soon as I'd lit it, it wouldn't burn properly and then the second time I lit it, it gave off sparks!
I've been converted to Kringle Candle now, which is actually owned by the founder of Yankee Candle's son.
They smell beautiful especially Kringle Cookie which is like Christmas cookie from YK.
They don't give off black smoke and they do them in pillars which are way cheaper than YK. They had 40% off all their pillars the other day, I ordered 6 for £4.80 each and got a free stand too!
Oh and the owners of Kringle Candle UK website were the previous owners of YankeeDoodle
I cannot recommend them highly enough!0 -
Christmas Eve large jar £14.25 delivery 99p on Amazon sold by Yankee Store. Seller has lots of others at this price as well

ive been put off Yankee Candle for LIFE after seeing sum post on here that theirs exploded and messed up their walls... it was red too and YC didnt care.
I'll stick to homebase.
Good deal though!
It may have been that it was cold when they lit it? I know when mine are delivered they are often freezing cold from being in a couriers van for days. You have to let them acclimate to room temperature before lighting or it can make the glass break.0 -

Yes. I was aware of the show being due on but had forgotten about it and luckily had only just sat down when it started. I watched one about a week ago and saw a kit with the Apple and Pine Needles jar in it but it sold out and at the time I couldn't afford it. I was then sent a 3 EP voucher by QVC and thought I'd see if they had got anything else like it in stock. Was very pleased to see this kit on offer with the 4 EP.I have gone right off Yankee Candles

I would love to try Kringle but would like to smell some first before buying. Will wait for them to open a store local to us.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

That's more money I've managed to save on Christmas gifts - thanks to this thread. Thank you OP!0

Thanks!! Neded a new christmassy jar to go with my christmas shade
Those of you talking about the black soot from the jars. This is resolved by cutting the wick down on each burn and not letting it get too long, easy peasy0 -
when do these offers expire?0

I love yankee candles and although they do cost that little bit extra, I burn a candle all day sometimes because I love the cosy atmosphere! So its worth it for me. My hubby hates candles but its my one little luxury so he lets it slide!
My favorites are the cupcake ones or most of the vanilla ones. I am currently burning blissful autumn which is quite sweet too but lovely. They seem to have a brought out a few new scents lately.
If anyone has a boundry mills near them its the cheapest place ive found for yankee candles and they have a wide selection. Not sure if its just a northern store though??on the road to recovery..:o0
