On a serious question how many times have you had to do this? I don't like smoking myself but I drive a lot and I can't remember ever having this problem with a guy smoking in a different car?

Exactly what I was thinking. Unless you were stopped right next to someone any smoke is going to be way too diluted to cause a problem.

No, and even if I was it doesn't automatically give lorry's licence to nearly kill you. I try and average around 57-60 mph because I want my expensive fuel to last as long as It can.

What lane are you in at this speed? 57 miles an hour on the motorway is pretty slow really. I can see why you get problems with people tail gating you!

Sounds to me like you are driving too slow.

Sounds to me like you drive too fast and enjoy waisting fuel.

If you match the speed of the HGVs which are restricted to 56 mph you will not be overtaken and will use your fuel efficiently. Its likely their restrictors are more accurate than your speedo.

They're not doing it because they don't like the smell of smoke- they're doing it because they don't want ash in their car!
I do it because I am waiting for someone like hubb driving next to me with windows open, so I can flick my butt through their window. :j

I am referring to being behind a car in slow traffic in hot weather when the window has to be down.

I don't know about them but I do. If I get 20mpg or more I give myself a stern talking to upon my return and remind myself that we're a long time dead.
