Freesat twin connection

I have the Humax 1000S Freesat/freetime box which needs 2 cables connected (1 to view & 1 to record another channel). My flat only has 1 wall socket so would be able to use a F splitter without any loss does anyone know? There is another threaded socket but this is conected by a short cable to a coaxial socket (both unamed). When i unscrewed this cable to use as a 2nd feed the HD channels broadcast were out of lip sync by a split second so i guess this needs to remain as it is.
Hope someone can help.

Peace & Love

Hi, you need two separate feeds from the LNB on the dish.

With satellite some channels are vertically polarised and some horizontally polarised, this means that depending on the channel selected, the box will send a DC voltage to the LNB to switch the polarity, so you just cant go splitting a single feed.

The two separate tuners in the box each need to be fed with a separate feed from the dish !!.

You will of course require an LNB with a twin feed if not already fitted.

If it's a pre-wired flat going by what the OP states, then it's more likely a communal dish,in which case adding a second feed would be very expensive.

Wow that sounds too technical & also its an apartment block ~ I will just have to record what i am watching or record when the tv is switched off ~ Thanks for your time.
