H & M Online
This has become so bizarre, I am laughing now, rather than ranting, but I thought I would give you a chuckle.
My Daughter wanted a jumper for a party at the beginning of September, so we ordered on the 4th September, paying for express delivery.
By the 9th September ,no parcel. H & M offered apologies, and knocked off the delivery charge. Fair Play.
By the 30th of September, still no jumper, so I called up to be told " Sorry, high demand item, might be another 4 weeks"
At this point, the jumper was no longer the "in thing" so we cancelled the order, and forgot all about it. No harm done, just bad luck.
Email on Tuesday 6th November -
" thanks for your payment, your jumper is on it's way ! "
Called up, to be told "sorry Mrs Jinty, the order wasn't cancelled, nothing we can do as it is already en route to you - but you can return it when it arrives, by Friday, for a full refund".
And yep, they have debited my card.
Email today - we are very sorry, due to a Technical Issue, we have not been able to dispatch your order ( remember, this is for the jumper that we don't even want any more, but have paid for), but as a gesture of goodwill, they are knocking 50% off the cost of the jumper that we don't want.
Called up again, half expecting some to say " Gotcha ! " -Seemingly the jumper has been dispatched, and will be here by Friday of next week, and they are so sorry they will send me £5 off my next online order - yeah cos that's ever gonna happen
:rotfl:
Not a huge hardship in the grand scheme of things, but ridiculous all the same .

Not quite as ridicoulous as a jumper nolonger being the in thing in the space of a month!;)Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.

Not at all, there is always a change in September/October from Autumn to Winter collections.
Though not sure what that has to do with the OP's gripe though? Unless you were just being especially nasty for the sake of it...0 -

I thought he/she was referring to it no longer being wanted because fashion had changed, rather than because the range of stock had changed. I've never followed fashion myself....yet the other week I was being complimented for the jacket I've been wearing for the past 8 years, because now it's fashionable.
Personally, if I ordered a jumper, I wouldn't change my mind because it's not fashionable. Perhaps it's best that it wasn't in stock, because it's kinda saved OP money because her daughter would never have worn it again and that'd be a waste.
But yeah, none of this has anything to do with OP's original gripe.0 -

It's called a joke.
Ever heard of them!
However I would say a jumper that is only 'viable' for a month is a waste of money - as it was for a special occasion that of course is their prerogative (as it would be anyway). Here dead we lie because we did not choose

Quite familiar with jokes thanks, they are usually amusing, something missing from your [STRIKE]dig[/STRIKE] post.
What you consider to be a waste of money is probably a world away from what OP considers to be a waste of money I suspect. Each to their own.0 -

Absolutely as I said their prerogative.
Keep your knickers on as long as they are still fashionable of course! Here dead we lie because we did not choose

It reads like joking with the OP to me, can easily be read either way, vyle also explained how they read it. :huh:Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

I took it as nasty, and I'd probably have doubted my initial thoughts and concluded it was a joke until I read this post:rubytuesday wrote: »Absolutely as I said their prerogative.

Now I'm just of the conclusion that she's just a thoroughly unpleasant individual and probably was having a pop.
But thats just my opinion and I've seen nothing to change that0 -
Anyway sorry Jinty I got a little side tracked.
I agree with you that H and M online can be a bit of a nightmare not that I've used it that often but I have orders delayed or cancelled and received a £5 voucher.
Have you looked at the Homeware stuff because some of that's quite nice and you might be able to put your voucher to use.
If you order now you might just get it in time for Christmas if you're lucky.:pHere dead we lie because we did not choose
