There is a massive spider in the boot of my car. I hate spiders and i am so annoyed that it decided to be inside my car. I don't think i can use my car again until this is sorted out. I was on the phone to my boyfriend almost in tears asking him to drive 4 hours to get to me to get rid of the thing. He said no, unsurprisingly. I hate spiders.
  • I rather think it is now "survival of the fittest". I really cannot share space with creepy crawlies, so unfortunately I have a them or me attitude and just spray the hell out of a room with insect spray!!!!! Obviously with due regard for my lungs, I shut the door and watch tv somewhere else.

We are also plagued by wasps in the garden and I've found glass wasp traps that you fill with sugar water and when the wasps fly in they can't get out again and die. They also work well for flies.

    I hope this helps.

It's easy to make a wasp trap, just get a plastic bottle, cut it in half, fill the bottom with nice suggary things eg. sugar, jam. Then turn the top upside down and squeeze it in the bottom. Great to use when eating outside to attract the wasps and trap them.

Sorry, almost forgot to come back and review the product(s). I ended up buying the wasp and spider Amiral detterent.

It's hard to tell how effective either really are. On the one hand, specifically the spider detterent I have noticed very few and certainly, less spiders than before. I do end the odd one or two turning up but the numbers have definately dwindled, specifically in the indoor areas I have used the spray. I haven't seen a single one of those domesticated spiders (one in pic), the common ones which I use to get upto 4 times a day, although a family member did report a big one but in a room I hadn't sprayed.

The spider detterent can is 300ml and I could have really done with ordering 2 as it's been used up quickly despite not being overly generous with it. I've applied it to known problem areas, small entrance areas and around window and door frames.

Again, I can't be certain how effective it's been or if it's partially down to simply luck.

The wasp spray I used outdoors in areas that are likely to be future problems, especially when summer is here full on. The high output range on it is great, just shooting it off from a distance makes you feel safer. I haven't seen a single wasp in the areas I've used it. I'll have to report back later when I can actually test it on a wasp.

I managed to find one spider to test the spray directly on and after spraying a small amount on the window cill then pushing the spider through it, it literally dropped dead after 10 seconds, was weird.

All in all, they seem to be effective, they certainly make you feel like your protected but I honestly need more time too see just how effective. So i'll report back when I have more evidence incase it's caught anyone else's interest.

When I say I should have bought another can of the spider detterent, I could have made use of their buy 2 get a 3rd half price. Something to note in the future, doh.

[There is a massive spider in the boot of my car.]

Imagine this then. I had been ill with a bad back & due to strong medication hadn't driven for a wile. So when i started to drive again was on duel carriageway when out of the corner of my eye the biggest spider in the hoooooooooole wide world started to drop down from my sunvisor, luckily for me someone else was in the car, i just started to scream I NEED TO STOP, I NEED TO STOP! & he reminded me that i had to slow down first. I had in my panic put my foot to to the floor & was by this time doing 75. Anyway did manage to slow down to 40 before turning off onto a dirt track jumped out of the car nearly hanging my self on the seat belt cos it didn't retract at the speed of light, & then proceeded to do the brushing down of body thing wile jumping up & down by this time shaking & in tears, it then took me ten minutes to calm down so i could explain to my passenger what was wrong. He was not to impressed that i had nearly tried to kill him over a spider but he was kind enough to drive the rest of the way.
