royal mail counters in supermarkets

do you think we'll ever see this happening ? would be nice to be able to post a package or a letter outside of normal royal mail opening hours - and very convenient too

I think they trialled one or two in Tesco a few years ago and nothing came of it.

Most of the time it would be workable, though I wouldn't like to be trying to send urgent parcels through a supermarket in the week before Christmas, it would be mental!

yes too right- no way do I want that sort of hassle- battling my way through the crowds to get my sprouts is bad enough!

ah, but same goes for most post offices - they can be very busy.

and if you had them open say between 7pm-10pm, along with the customer services desk, you'd often have times where there is no queue. you'd also be able to deposit money in your bank, if you had a bank that allowed you to bank through the post office
  • We have a PO in the next village up that opens on a Sunday, which is handy :)

I think I did see a PO in a small supermarket in Leek a few years ago..

There is a counter in the local Asda which was open on a Sunday last time I used it.
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,
Had the whole of their cash in his care.
