Well, We had big day out which dear Friends paid for 'cos they were celebrating.. we've been to the dogs!!
I took £5.83 from the 'shrapnel jar' and came back with £3.71.
Dh paid for my drinks.. OK chaps it was early so not drinking at usual speed!:rotfl: He got quite ars*y 'cos not winning and then put a whole £4 on a silly bet and won £87.57!!
Always thought I had an addictive streak, but don't think I could ever get into betting big style.. I resented my 5p per go on each of the races despite it not being real spends.0 -
After lovely day out went back to friends house - don't get me wrong, love them to bits, but was relieved they didn't come back to our house 'cos we hadn't tidied up!!
However - if they I would have felt guilty for all of 1 minute when they walked in, but 'cos they would have been welcome and we would have given them drink & food who would care??
Jet, take what suits you from old style board but don't get obsessed with house work - see above.
Kaz - i'm a mother in law - god forbid i'm as selfish as yours!! Suit yourself dear 'cos she obviously does. OK - need to keep DH on side ..but...
Joe - as a mum I would love any sort of flowers - it is the thought that counts - my late mum loved flowers but would berate us if we bought them for mothering sunday or easter ' cos she knew they cost so much more then.
Planb - I guess if you had a word about the nice but unnecessary prezzies a lot of your workmates would be relieved!
I'm the 'boss' where I work and deliberately don't instigate a group pressie or thank you collection. If they need to be done ie weddings or funerals I set a limit to a couple of quid. I felt mean at first but now think it works out for the best.
Welcome to Nugg too!!0 -
Good Morning All,
Well just about...
Day off for me and staying indoors as weather is very gloomy outside.
Might get on with some housework and laundry today. Although all I feel like doing is being really lazy and eating junk. Of which I have none!
Having a bit of a blah day with thinking about money and debts etc....need a hug....
Hope weather is better for everyone else though xxWealth is not measured by currency0 -
