I had to go to Mr T to buy DD's friend a birthday present and some sun cream for the DC. I saw a hair dye and scanned it at the price checker and it came up at £0.01. There were 2 on the shelf so I thought I'm having that. Couldn't scan it at checkout so girl took to cs and they scanned it at £0.01. She brought it back and told me to take it to cs. Over I went at it wouldn't scan again, so they wouldn't let me have it. So I absolutely failed miserably to spend any non budgeted money. Has God signed up to this thread or what?!

Mrs MH,

As with the last challenge, its not really fair to take things away from our kids, and since Gymnastics is good for her (not like its a PS3 game or owt!).

Count me in, just wish I could get DP to do it. Might try again after I help him keep a spending diary and scare him. ( we work things slightly differently to most, as a thing to stop him WANTING all the time and spending what we didn't have he now gives me a set amount per week and keeps whatever is left inc if he puts any extra time in)
What I plan to do to help me stick to it
Use bike water bottle for water or juice to stop me buying drinks when out
Resist buying food when out for convenience. Make a lunch to take if out all day.
Reduce magazine buying etc, I have already but will some more, picked up Somerfield one yesterday as a free read
Read news online instead of buying papers
Carry spending diary with me, the guilt of spending helps me stopOne day I might be more organised...........

Have just found this thread and would like to join in ....please.
Am on maternity leave and am just about to start my 6 months which is unpaid ....so really need to get tough on myself!!!
Will start on Sunday properly....but have £10 left until then....not much chance of me spending it unnecessarily though - my DS2 has really bad chicken pox, so apart from buying various lotions, medicine etc....I'm not getting much chance to go out and spend!! Am now waiting to see if DS1 (age 6) and DD (6 months) go down with it - as that will be a major curb on my spending for the next few weeks!!!!:eek:20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100

yay my transfer from my paypal account has finally made it into my account. £162 in one month. I'm going to keep whatever the total for postage comes to and then transfer the rest into my car account as my car insurance is due next month (renewal quote is £460 but I'm sure I can get it cheaper than that)Debts: Mum £3923 0% APR0

I spent over £50 on petrol today. I remember when you could buy a car for that..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
