Hell yes! It most certainly is!

Have just been looking at rentals back where my parents live, still Kent, and for what I pay here I could get a 3 bed house............

Life seems crazy to me right now!

Can I join in too? :) Seem to be joining in lots of things today, hope I don't lose motivation...

At the minute, I have a number of budgets - but 'treats' (or unnecessary spends...) come out of both the food budget (if it' cake, choc or whatever), or the 'entertainment' budget (if it's coffee out, or dinner, or drinks or whatever).

I will convert my entertainment budget into an 'unnecessary' budget, and stop taking treats out of the food one... :)

I'll start today this week though, will go and add up what I've already spent...

Good heavens - already spent £6 on unnecessary things, and haven't been out of the house yet today! This is going to take a bit of getting used to - Lol!
  • Hello people

I've been soooo bad with money since I started seeing the bf (and yes, we're all sorted and it's still on. Tentatively!) but I've just checked my accounts and I've got £100 to last til payday in just under 3 weeks time. And in that 3 weeks one of my friends is coming to stay for a weekend so it's panic time! I've done a reasonable shop so I'm ok for most food items at the mo although I have just realised I need some more washing tablet things. That aside, I'm going to convert the unnecessary challenge into a don't spend over £100 challenge til payday! Then in October I'm hoping to work out a new budget including the bf-related things and stop using that as an excuse to spend!

I have got a bit in savings and a bit in my piggybank if things get desperate, but I WON'T LET THEM! I remember a year ago when I had literally no spare money whatsoever for months at a time. Amazing how easy it is to slip back into free(ish) spending when there's a bit more money around. Grrrr.

Oh and I did some overtime at work yesterday, so I'll be getting an extra £100 or so next month, wooh :)

  • wow I really like this challenge, is it ok if I join in too? Unnecessary spending is my weakness and the key reason why my money disappears. This should really make me stop and think - and if I overspend I won't be able to get a lottery ticket on saturdays which I like to do!

fac 73 - I can't believe no one helped you, if I saw a pregnant lady fall in the street I would stop! You poor thing, some people are so selfish it makes my blood boil

Well, after joining this thread on Wednesday, (having already spent £6...), I managed to get to the end of the week spending only £9.69! Hooray! Leftover 31p has gone in my change jar, and I've started again with a new £10 today.

I have been laughing at how inventive I've been this week - and how little chocolate I can actually live on (ie non) when I'm counting how much I spend on it... Even refused a pub trip, and persuaded friends to come round rather than going to the cinema. I think I might just get used to this... :)
  • Welcome to the challenge chloebelle, and great start cheery daff, well done :T

No spender for me today :)
