NS weekend for me - just as well seeing as there is only £1.09 in my purse. Still that can go into my piggy bank this evening. Feeling much better now, so back to back lunches this week for work, and hopefully that will help me curb my spending a bit more.

Fishface - you have to decide what is unnecessary/essential for yourself really. To me its anything not budgeted for - so mainly magazines, spending more than my (small) montly budget on my dolls house, buying lunch at work. Money I don't have to spend. Stuff like compost for the garden comes out of a garden budget, and I deem that necessary as I think it probably saves me money on food. Anything that I spend cash that was in my purse rather than essential items. I hope that rather muddled thinking helps ?!?

Welcome FishFace, hope you find it helpful and entertaining over here!

Like Ruthie said, you have to decide whats essential/unnecessary yourself. Thats dependant on how far into it you want to go as well.

This week I am considering everything which does not further my existance as unnecessary.......... so food, warmth, shelter and water are it for me this week! I'm going to try and be a bit more gung-ho about it!!!

Welcome back Kiwi, the flu is horrid, ive got the streaming eyes, the sore muscles, the dry throat and the blocked nose so far.......... the best is yet to come I feel!

    Hi everyone!

Sorry to hear you're feeling pants CAFC, hope you feel better soon xx

Kiwigirl... you reminded me when you said about not putting knickers out at all of the time we went to tha Gambia and paid a lady do all our washing for us before we left for home so we didn't have to worry about it. We got all the stuff back lovely and clean plus a bag of wet stuff. When we looked it was all my underwear. We asked why mine wasn't dried when my OH and Dad's was, and she said it wasn't the done thing to put young ladies undies on display :rotfl:

My eye's are all fine ta for asking. I had a gut feeling nothing was wrong but didn't want to 'p' off my doctor by disagreeing with him and not going. It totally messed up my Friday though as I took the morning off to get the house sorted and couldn't, and then ended up trying to rush through a remortgage application on the phone while stuck on the M25 (I wasn't driving btw). Came home today to find my Dad has weeded the front garden for me and my Mum had had a quick clean around inside for me. Absolute saints the pair of them :A :A

So..... unneccesary spends last week were awful (but for the firstweek, it made me so much more aware of what I was doing). £1 in work on food, a total of £11.85 in the hospital car park and tuck shop. I'm adament there's something else but I can't remember..... . So £12.85 that I can think of.

Righto, week starts again tomorrow so £10 to last me again. Lunches made and hoping for a no spend day (except for travel card which comes out of a different budget all together)

    Good luck everyone
