Have you tried selecting the USB stick from a boot menu rather than changing the boot priority in the BIOS?
Sounds silly, it should have the same affect but this isn't always the case.0 -
Thanks guys. Will try reburning it. Funny though that the ubuntu website doesn't state that.
Will update once I have tried it!0 -

on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
Actually it does, sort of, but in a way that assumes that you know that's what you have to do in the first place.:)Equaliser123 wrote: »Thanks guys. Will try reburning it. Funny though that the ubuntu website doesn't state that.

If you go to the download page, http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop, it has links giving you instructions on how to burn a DVD and also how to create a bootable USB stick.
It never tells you to just copy the .ISO file onto the DVD...0 -
another great way of booting ISOs particularly Linux ISOs is by using the the Yumi multiboot system http://www.pendrivelinux.com/yumi-multiboot-usb-creator/ or SARDU systems http://www.sarducd.it/. You can put single ISOs on or better still several ISOs including rescue ones, Linux or even Windows all available off a USB flash drive.0

Unetbootin makes life easy. I recently " burned" Linux Mint 14 to an SD card using it. And I am posting this from my Mint 14 install using that SD card to install it.

Same here.
Although I put it onto a USB drive so I could have a bootable live version of Linux mint 14 cinnamon for the wife and son to get used to, then after a week installed it onto the hard drive.
