WizzAir new hand luggage fees - what are my rights?

I booked tickets for my parents in August 2012. Their flight is in December 2012 and return January 2013.

Now my mother rang me today and said WizzAir changed their hand luggage policy from October 26 and she won't be allowed her 50cm x 35cm x 20cm bag without suffering additional charge.

Does it apply to people who booked before that date?

I don't see anything on their website about bookings before a certain date being exempted so I'd say the answer is yes.

The new cabin baggage policy will apply to all flights booked on or after 4 October 2012 for
travel from 24 October 2012 onward. If you booked a flight before 4 October 2012, you may
take a large cabin bag on board free of charge.

How would the gate staff who check hand luggage now. If I was the OP, I would print a copy of the e-mail with the date and time. The boarding pass does not mention the date when you purchased your flight.

go to the wizzair website. retrieve the reservation. in the price summary section my itinerary states:

"Large cabin bag £0.00"
