Hello all,
Our roommate discovered an organic farm shop nearby that was very reasonable and delivers. So far so good. She seems (being american) to have not really understood how much veg can fit in a kilo so we literally have enough fruit and veg to feed an army. Like, 18th century army. Its insane.
Good for me though as Im just back from hols and will need to try to pop back to my normal waistline!
So lots of veg for us this week! just buying in a few very small bits (cheese, basil, etc)
Tonight - spiced carrot and lentil soup, roasted aubergine parmesagne (from scratch), chocolate from duty free for desert
Saturday - spicy sausage casserole w/rice (anyone have a recipe which includes lots of veg?)
Sunday - pasta ragu using leftover parmesagne sauce and loads of veg
Monday - leftovers Friday or Saturday
Tuesday -vegetable fritata
Wednesday - leftovers
Thursday - leftovers

Ours starts tomorrow. Have managed to stick to our plan this week which has kept down costs and used up all our leftovers. I also find it really helps to be organised when you get home from work tired and grumpy - makes you slightly less grumpy when you don't have to think about what to cook :rotfl:
Sat - HM Pizza, wedges and salad
Sun - Veggie Quesadillas, salsa and spicy rice
Mon - Roast pork, yorkies, roasties, freezer veg and gravy
Tues - Left over pork and stuffing rolls, HM chips and salad

Thurs - mac cheese, HM garlic bread and salad
Fri - Spag bol
Have a good week everyone.

I am a bit adrift ATM.
Today fish
Tomorrow: Persian beef and quince stew with cous cous (made this last winter, or maybe early this spring and have wanted it ever since) and lavender rice pudding. (a bit of a random pairing there)
Sunday: corn beef hash. (dh requested). But this is subject to change because if I find something more exciting in the freezer we WILL be having it, I am winding it down AGAIN.
Monday. Soup.
Tuesday. Just me! Exciting. I am yet to decide, will probably involve a freezer dip experience as I try and wind that down.
Wednesday. Just me again! Still exciting! More freezer dipping I think.
Thursday. Pasta with a porky ragu, may be some gremolata sort of thing going on if parent gets back early, or if it's a later return home I might just offer something like an omlette.
Then it's back to the beginning for me again!0 -
I haven't been meal planning recently - or, rather, I have been drawing up meal plans but abandoning them before they even get posted on this thread.
Must do better this week...
Friday - jambalaya
Saturday - TBC. I might go out for lunch and have a sandwich for dinner, or I might skip lunch (I'm going to a food fair, so there should be plenty of freebies to nibble on) and have pizza and salad for dinner
Sunday - veggie moussaka
Monday - savoury mince pie (using the idea from the HB diet book of using bread dough instead of pastry) with curly kale and purple carrots
Tuesday - creamy pigeon and mushroom pasta
Wednesday - mushroom stroganoff and rice
Thursday to Saturday - away visiting my DPs :jBack after a very long break!0 -
