Woolworths have also had some cheap deals on bikes lately. Sorry I can't be more specific with prices etc. But might be worth a look!

I bought a £40 ladies mountain bike from Sterlinghouse two years ago.

The bike is fine for recreational cycling, though slightly on the heavy side.

When it arrived the box was damaged and some of the pedal bits were missing and there were no instructions (it's in pieces when it arrives) and the call centre sounds like it's in Asia. The paint was slightly scratched but I wasn't really worried and the other bits got sent straight out to me.

They are a bargain bike - as long as you realise that and don't expect the earth then go for it!

I wouldn't want to buy a bike without trying it first. They can vary so much in size, distance from handlebars, riding angle, saddle etc. I'm only 5ft 1 so had to try quite a few before I found one that was comfortable. I went for a more conventional touring bike, as I didn't like the shoulders-down-bum-in-the-air riding style of the ATB's.

It depends how often you want to ride it and for how far, but if you're going to be spending a lot of time on it, it'd be worth trying a few at a local bike shop or somewhere like Toysrus or Halfords.

They sell on ebay, so if they dont on the website, then they will on ebay.

I have only just bought my bikes and i can't remember there being paypal facilities on there (sorry). I just used my webcard(cahoot) that way the credit card details i give out are only available for a single use and a fixed mount. If you want further details of this please pm me.

In reading some of the posts, i think that people are getting a bit confused. These bikes are meant to be a cheap alternative to store bought high expense purpose built bikes. I have been to all the cheap outlets ie toys r us, halford ebay and woolys, and yes they are all good and cheap. but, if you are looking for a decent bike at a lower cost than the above stores with added extras( helmet, lock and lights included) then i found these bikes were best. I am not saying they are the best bikes on the market, but i cant find a his and hers bike combo for better value. Can anybody else? If you are looking for a top spec bike perfectly taylored to your individual need then you need to pay more and goto a registered bike store. These are bikes for the cheapo(weekend/occasional rider).

Cheap bikes, but not that good.

Because you sell on Ebay does not make it compulsory to accept payment by paypal. Although it does make life easier and ebay make their money out of it.
