Social Housing Allocation

I think I need to move area! We have been on the list for 13 years. We have 4 children and currently live in a 3 bed. Our soon to be 16 year old daughter is in the tiny box room, and our 3 sons (12, 14, 16) share a room which is probably described as a small double but we can only get one single bed in it.
The council assume two children per room so don't think we are overcrowded and don't seem bothered about two 16 year olds sharing even if they are boy/girl. We are Band 3 and way down the list!
I often wonder about allocation as I see people getting the homes we bid on after just being on the list a few months.0 -
I think your friend should be grateful instead of ranting and complaining. There are lots of families who cannot afford a bigger house and are stuck in small boxes and children sharing rooms.0

Simple solution is to use contraception until you can afford a house large enough for children to have one room each or have already been allocated social housing. You can't possible know the full circumstances - perhaps those families are soon to be homeless.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

I agree with Fire Fox and Gerkin. Have you heard yourself?! There are families sharing 1/2 bedroom accommodation between 4/5 of them. And you and your friend are annoyed because "you could do with a bit more space".
People need to stop reproducing unless they are stable enough, and have enough money to have children rather depending on the welfare and benefits system. What's wrong with trying to get a job? Is your friend a single parent? If so then I'm guessing her circumstances have been changing if she has a 2 year old but has been on the list for "better" housing for over 3 years (so she may have ended up moving down the list). If this isn't the case then she needs to learn about sex education.
Sounds harsh but I don't care. I work damn hard for people to be lazy, spit out kids and scrounge off the government, and they often end up with more disposable income than myself and my partner. Benefits and social housing should be for people who get to a point where they need it, out of no fault of their own, not for people to think "it's there, I can't be bothered working, I'll use it". And don't say people don't, because I know people who have done exactly that and it winds me up (and they know it).
