Social Housing Allocation

I have a friend who is "bidding" on social housing, (we are too but are in no particular need) who has been ranting about recent allocations in our area.
She has a girl aged 9 (almost 10), and a 2 1/2 year old. She has been given a band 2 for housing because she has been on the register for about 3 years. She is in a 2 bedroom flat and the children share a bedroom
she has bidded on 3 3 bed houses in the last month, which all three have gone to "local" families
the first has gone to a single parent family with 2 girls aged 6 and 8
the second has gone to a single parent with one child - possible domestic violence
and the third to a couple with a boy and a girl both YOUNGER than her YOUNGEST child
all apparently showing as being allocated to band 2 too
Does anyone else think this is fair allocation... the last one in particular annoys me as we finshed 2nd for this particular house and my friend finshed 4th?
Oh, my circumstances is a girl aged 6 and a 2 and a bit year old boy also in 2 bedroom, with a band 2 (been on the list over a year)
She is now ranting about getting councillors involved and allsorts of rubbish - whats the point though, she cant get the houses as the other families are now living there - what is that going to achieve???
Does everyones social housing get allocated silly?

I work in this area and it goes on time on Band then time on register. So if I was on say band two and been on it a year and you were the same but for 6 months - I'd get the property.3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:

SamToby, with the case of the third house - ive only been on it just over a year and my friend about 3, how come i came above her in the list? just curious..
Ours is over 10's for sharing0 -
Where have you obtained the information from regarding who the properties have been allocated to?3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:

Check their allocations policy. Personally i don't think it's unreasonable for children to be sharing a room.0

If they aren't allocating according to the rules, good on her for highlighting their errors BUT she's assuming that she has perfect knowledge of the others' circumstances, which of course she doesn't.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

If your bidding it depends who bids?
Some properties get say 100 bids in our LA and some hardly any. Its easy to predict if you know the areas well. If its rural they get less generally than main town locations for example. X3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:

they are all families that we know, and it tells us on a page about recent lets whats band the "winner" was.
I honestly dont actually mind the children sharing, we have the children in the master bedroom and it works for us - but a little bit more space wouldnt go amiss if we could have it x0 -
She may have been dropped down for reasons. I'm slightly alarmed about how much you know about the other bidders did your LA tell you that?3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:

Due to changes in allocation laws I would check whether this is your lA's new policy or older one as Councils are currently changing allocation policies due to Central Gov reform. x3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:
