Should I ask for Feedback?

Last month I bought and sold some items. For the majority, feedback has been exchanged BUT not for 1 item I bought and 3 items I sold, I have left feedback they have not.
Should I ask for feedback?
It appears there is one buyer who has 50+ feedbacks but has never left feedback for anybody! The others don't appear to have left feedback for anybody in the last month.

Not everyone is bothered about leaving feedback, and anyone who asks me for feedback will get a comment about harassing me on the feedback i give. So, as above, no dont ask for feedback.0

Yes of course. if people wanted to leave feedback then they would do so, it is not compulsory so why would anyone nag for it and risk getting a star knocked for poor communication?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks for this. Exactly what I needed. I'm not sure I'd like to be asked for feedback but it has been bugging me. Thanks again.0

But if you sold an item would you not expect feedback, surely if you had no feedback at all then certain buyers or sellers would not trust you.0

That still doesn't make it compulsory.
Some people leave feeback, some don't and some, like me tend to only 'Not' leave it if I am not happy but don't want to mark a seller down.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Yes you should leave feedback ideally, but as stated you dont have to.
Currently i'm busy and haven't left any for the last 50 or so items.
I know i should, i then see the items where i haven't left feedback and emails telling me i have left feedback so if someone then emails me they must surely know i know i haven't so i don't like it. Simples!0 -

That's exactly what I do. With my seller hat on keeping high stars and a 100% positive feedback is vital, for me and my peace of mind. As a buyer I always leave feedback for sellers, unless I havnt been entirely happy but whatever has happened isn't really worth hitting the sellers stars and/or leaving negative. That's not to say I havnt done that in some circumstances but I do try to avoid it if I can.0 -
As a buyer, I usually leave prompt feedback, to get it done. As a seller, I leave it as soon as I've despatched the item.
If anyone leaves feedback in return, I see it as a bonus - most people do, some don't - life's too short to go chasing those who don't... who will probably get irritated and mark you down if you ask.
As Soolin recommended, don't ask for or even mention the word feedback, as there's a good chance the result will be counter-productive."The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.
...If you can fake that, you've got it made."
