What did they say when you called them ? Have you cancelled it now with DGS ? Do you still have the washer ?
I have cover through them for my kitchen appliances and have used them several times, i always receive a reminder when the policy is due to expire.
Your bank will only be able to claim back payments within the last 120 days via the chargeback route. BUT, if you hadn't cancelled the policy they won't be able to do this.0 -
yes i have called them, they said they sent a reminder but i moved house that year so never received it?no i don't still have the washer, had two more since then.I have cancelled it with my bank.not happy that this company can take money from my account without my authorisation0

You did authorise it, at the time it was set up.0 -
It's recommended you periodically, say once a year review your DD's this is exactly why that is good advice.:j Trytryagain FLYLADY - SAYE £700 each month Premium Bonds £713 Mortgage Was £100,000@20/6/08 now zilch 21/4/15:beer: WTL - 52 (I'll do it 4 MUM)0

Have just spent another half an hour on the phone to Domestic & general trying to sort out a refund for 5 years' worth of DDs which they collected after the expiry of a plan.
Initially they told me no problem and a full refund would be made, now they are wriggling offering me only the most recent year's worth rather than the whole lot.
I have now registered it as a formal complaint but wondered if anyone else has got any advice on how to win this one.
Did your bank fraud dept. sort with D&G to put some pressure on them?0 -
Yesterday my account was hit with an £80 charge as a direct debit in favour of DGS/RPP. After Googling and reading this and other threads, I tried to call HSBC but failed to get through "We are experiencing heavier than usual call levels".
I went into my local branch and once I explained my concern, the direct debit was cancelled and my money refunded. Today there is no record of this transaction on my e-Banking statement. Nice.
The lady at the bank told me that once these people have a name and a bank sort code they can find the account number and then set up a new direct debit.
I have no idea how they got this detail from me since I am not just careful about my online personal data disclosure I, am practically paranoid about it. I do not give out my personal details at all.
The bottom line is that if you do see a direct debit from DGS/RPP you should immediately contact you bank and they will most likely sort it out for you.
Thank you to all who posted here and put me on the right track.0 -
I have today found a d/d dating back to November 2008 for £3.49. I have contacted dgs who cancelled it. Apparently it was for a dishwasher I bought from Appliance on line in November .i never authorised this but they refuse to return the payments . I have spoken to the bank but they say they can't get involved0
