Missed Job Interview

Have you considered claiming ESA? It sounds as if your health is preventing you from meeting JSA conditionality. You wouldn't have been sanctioned while claiming ESA.
If you have been sanctioned, you can apply for a crisis loan and hardship payments. Hardship payments will be a reduced percentage of JSA, but they are not mandatory, you could end up with no income at all. Hopefully it will be for the minimum of 4 weeks and not 13, if at all.0 -
Can I ask what ESA is never heard of it. I am with the disabily offercer at the job centre so not sure if this will effect if they decide to sanction me all not

ESA is Employment and Support Allowance, which can be claimed instead of JSA if it is considered that your health affects your ability to work. It is not easy to qualify for ESA, but your disability officer should be able to give you more advice.

On the face of it doesn't look good and, under new sanctions, you could be facing a three month sanction.
Few questions;
1) Are the Jobcentre already aware you could be subject to panic attacks or any other issues - ie have you previously told them.
2) Have you got the employer to re-arrange the interview? If so just tell the Jobcentre and, as long as you go, you are 'in the clear' so to speak.
3) What form did you mention you sometimes get panic attacks on? Was it something you gave to the Jobcentre?
What I'm really getting at is were the Jobcentre previously aware you had an issue? If so I wouldn't start to worry too much.
If not, and I'm not telling you what to do, personally I would go in to your next JCP appointment (assuming they wouldn't re-arrange the interview) and come completely clean, explain your issues and just be honest. You also might like to ask if it is possible to get an appointment with a Disability Adviser just for some extra help - obviously in an extremely nice way ie don't demand it.0 -
It was a form you have refused a job or missed an interview that gets sent of then they make a decision where I face santions or not.
They no about panic attacks as I have had to previously leave a job due to them don't think I will qualify for ESA as all I have is dypraxia ADHD and dyslexic shame as it seem you get more help when on ESA.
Will deffo ask to speak to a disability adviser.0 -
Ahh so you have already had a DMA. It's in the hands of the gods.
The fact you already raised the issue might help you...0 -
Citalopram caused me to have massive panic attacks and I've met many people whose anxiety escalated so much on that medication they had to stop too."Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them." Dalai Lama0

you can't apply for a crisis loan if sanctioned, the only option is hardship payments and appealing.0 -
