    hi all from essex.

just getting settled in our new pad. feel so much better...

obviously there are the bills but seems like it's worth it.

Haven't really been to a's even though 5 minutes away...

am starting to catch up though.

but if glitches still on we'll be there tomorrow. Found spooky cakes from the darkside and did some wombling though.

And thanks for the new thread Fudge Cake..

i heard he had died and we did chat to him about bikes etc and many folk have said to me that he was a super guy .

I'm now looking out of the window staring at Peters as I'm in Wedbas ( the pie makers not the L'fab Drive hairdressers) and wondering if i should go and bother an old friend who lives opposite ...or should i leave it til later to get all smokey eyed and teary with tales of the past and laughs about the future .

Peters! That shop has been there ever since I was a child. The same man can't still be running it! I reckon we probably know quite a few of the same people, Fourp.

    Afternoon everyone

It was my 25th wedding anniversary yesterday. Yesterday afternoon I was a bit shocked when one of these was delivered

Now we have needed a new fridge freezer for ages and this one is lovely and will go wonderfully in the new kitchen when it's finished. But I was rather dismayed to discover that this was my anniversary pressie:(. My OH has always been the practical type....I've had a dishwasher, coffee maker, dyson and other practical gifts over the years and I've just gotten used to it but I had thought that as it was a special anniversary he might buy me something a bit more personal or special. Needless to say I spent the rest of the day in a bit if a strop not helped by him commenting that he thought that it was a great idea because it was silver and appropriate for a silver wedding pressie:mad:

Well anyway I'd gotten over it by this morning. Went out to do a few things this morning then went to pick OH from hospital at lunch time. Just after we got home there was a knock at the door, It was a man from a car dealership delivering a brand new shiny one of these

So guess how stoopid and selfish and ungrateful I feel now?:o. Luckily OH just thinks he's funny (nice to see he still has a sense of humour:cool:)

New car for me has been on the cards for ages. the one I have now is practically falling apart but With all the goings on I haven't a chance to sort a new one out. So I have had a harsh lesson about being ungrateful and am off now to find me knee pads for all the grovelling I'm going to be doing.

    Sorry for the long post:o

congratulations on your anniversery :T and fab prezzies :D

:(Just got my Bs order and my candle was smashed :( Rang them straight away and another one on way. Realised after I should of got the refund offered so free order:o but never mind.

Just received mine and one of my candles was broken too! The box had no dents and the other candle and creams were fine which i thought was very peculiar - as though it had been packed broken. I rang and they offered to send a replacement straight away. Superb, excellent service, and didn't even ask to see evidence of the breakage.

Happy anniversary fairclaire and hubbie, OMG he's done good, my DH would have done the same.
He'd worked out that our second anniversary was 'cotton' so spent weeks cross stitching a lovely picture with loads of hearts etc. but he thought it was funny to give me a cotton hanky:eek: but after work he arrived in with a diamond eternity ring, apparently he'd asked his boss to keep it in the safe in work but one of the office staff refused to give it to him, he even got the boss to phone me later that night to confirm what had happened.:rotfl:
thank you.....I think this was a Definate one off. It'll be back to kettles and irons next year:rotfl::rotfl:
I think that fact that I have been using his car in his absence might have helped make his mind up. I'm sure he will have been having sleepless nights thinking of me tearing round the place in his beloved car:D
