I wonder if you can help me with a set up.
I have a Sony Bravia television and a Humax HDR Fox T2. I have two aerials on my roof one for picking up UK based signals and the other for picking up signals from the Republic of Ireland, both aerials were updated about five years ago for digital switchover and new aerial cable installed. Both aerials cords go into a box on the roof and one aerial cord comes down and into the house. I have only one television.
Now here is my problem. If I turn on the inbuilt 5v antenna power on the Humax I get a perfect picture from the RoI but some of the UK channels have a small bit of interference in the picture and cause it to pixilate. On the other hand if I turn the antenna power off then the RoI stations become totally unwatchable.
When my aerial installer fitted the new aerials he gave me a Proception 1 Way Professional Indoor Digital Aerial TV Signal Booster Amplifier. He fitted the Proception box and everything seemed to be working fine. I was doing some decorating at the time and disconnected the box and to be honest never reconnected it, I just turned the Humax antenna power on and off as required.
However, now that the digital switchover has been completed in Northern Ireland and in the RoI I’m wondering if I fit the Proception box will that stop me from having to turn the antenna power on and off manually when I want to switch from one region to another? But the Proception seems to be 12V
How should I fit it? I’m assuming the aerial will go into the In socket and an aerial cable from the OUT socket goes into the Humax and from there to the television. Am I right?
My primary aim is to set up so I don’t need to switch antenna power on and off each time I change from one region to another and also it gives me the freedom to watch one region while recording in another.
As always many thanks for your assistance
additional question. What about HDMI how would it be set up, will it affect picture

AS it's the ROI aerial signal which needs a boost, you should connect it so that ROI goes to a masthead amplifier then to the diplexer. The UK Freeview aerial should connect directly to the diplexer without amplifier. Make sure the diplexer is set to pass power to the amplifier only.
Some 12v amplifiers will operate from 5 volts. (Masthead amps from "Vision" will.) If not, then you'll have to route the cable through a 12v PSU.0
