Hello,
I have been watching Homeland recently but finding it really confusing as I didn't watch the 1st series. I want to download the 1st series ... how hard can it be?!?!
I have wifi (virgin media) but think it must be too slow to manage streaming as when I tried that it was really jumpy.
Well can I find a half decent site that will let me download this without sending me round in circles, having me harassed by pop ups and eventually after nearly two frustrating hours of this giving up + not to mention a "free" trial - they reassured me they only needed my card number to verify my details but then it cost me a dollar so that they cancel my subscription promptly (with 2-3 days prompt) as they renew membership automatically.
Thank you for listening to my rant and if you have any ideas then please feel free.
Jenny

If you are trying to stream HD on a non-N wifi signal then you are on to a hiding for nothing. If you have a new combined router/cable modem from Virgin it will be wireless 'N', however your laptop may only be wireless 'G' so the connection will not be fast enough.
You can try either streaming SD content or connecting your laptop via a cable to see if that helps.
Speaking from experience, I can stream HD video down an 8M/b internet connection, but can only watch it on a wired PC or on my wireless 'N' iPad. If I try to watch it on my wireless 'G' laptop, all I get is a series of still images with audio. It is a strange one when you consider that a wireless 'G' router works at 54Mb/s, so should be more than capable of doing the job.
By trying to stream video from the net via ethernet instead of wifi, you can rule-out problems with your content provider.0 -
mmm I don't really have access to ethernet as its not technically my internet - landladys etc.
Is there any way to download and then I can watch at my leisure?0 -

First thing: Don't give your card details to strange sites.
Second thing: If you're trying to find free streams, they're technically illegal. Try netflix or lovefilm.0 -
Or you can use torrents (although illegal as well!) Or you can usually buy episodes of programmes through itunes or other providers, but costs ridiculous amount sometimes!0

I thought watching tv that had already been shown on standard tv was fine?0

Afraid not, when a channel shows a program, they pay for the rights to show it, so only at certain times and only so many times. Rights to films and tv can last for a long time.
If they were freely available, then all these hosting sites would not be needed or in business.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -

Only if you're using a legal catch-up/on demand service like iplayer & 4od."And suddenly I find myself listening to a man I've never known before,Telling me about the sea..."0 -
No, torrents are not. It is just the downloading, and more important distribution of copyright material that is illegal, rather than every torrent in the world. Pirate Bay - the torrent site, is blocked in the UK, but it is reported that people have found many ways around it, should they need to.Or you can use torrents (although illegal as well!)...
There are/were countries that stream their tv for free, and would be glad if you watch them.
TV streams 24/7 over the airways. PVRs, DVRs and Video recorders are in abundance. Nearly every home has at least one. You will arrest the whole of Europe and North America0 -

blinkbox might also be a better call than lovefilm and netflix as i believe they have a download client/managerDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0
