Using a site like the CAG shouldnt be an effort...

At least one of their moderators insists that PPC invoices are enforceable, citing the 50% success rate in the tiny number of (cherrypicked) defended cases, and the recent Parking Eye- Somerfield case [in which the judge ruled that the invoices were not penalties and probably were enforceable]. He/she now often contradicts, edits, or deletes any advice to "ignore", even though the vast majority of 'ignored' tickets are never taken to court.

I wonder if the CAB has been 'got at' by the BPA, particularly as their official advice contains certain inaccuracies implying that PPC invoices are more enforceable than they actually are.

As to why your first post on CAG is encouraging others to go look elsewhere when the advice here (and on other sites) is just as relevant, I have no idea. Perhaps you would enlighten us??

I also know there was a hell of a struggle before they would allow links to Pranky's blog site.

They get very arsey about the word "scam" although the OFT, police forces, and "Which" are all happy to the word..

Indeed I once linked to an OFT website that included the word "scam" in its URL and their nanny filter amended it to "problem",
thus totally blocking an OFT website.

I pointed this out to a moderator, a very ignorant fellow, but he did not want to know. I complained about it to the management but never received a reply.

I tried CAG for a very short while but was astounded at the poor and frankly wrong advice they often gave out so haven't bothered returning. It's a very, very, very poor site which only seems to assist PPCs.

I expect other parts of CAG are fine, but the parking section is a joke.

Yes they give some fantastic advice on things like benefits/debt collectors etc , but parking is not something they do well on

I have to agree, I tried giving some advice on CAG about sending a robust initial response to a PPC ticket, it was shot down in flames, I spent more time defending my response than actually giving advice, I have now given up.

It is such a pity CAG's Private Parking advice is so poor, I got excellent advice on an employment issue I had a few years ago and they have been at the forefront of the civil recovery scandal, I just don't understand why decent Private Parking Ticket advice seems to be beyond them.

Its because the few people who frequent the parking board wont change and adapt to the new game that is being played

The original poster in the CAG thread got their ticket in car park very close to me so I'm familiar with the site and the PPC operating there. I have fought an won on that site and do give out leaflets telling others how to do the same.

That was my posting they removed trisontana - as you seen they had a right hissy fit at me for posting an MSE link - how very dare a newbie member do such a thing being helpful. They removed it and got rather antagonistic towards me - 2 moderators had a pop.

So I threw my toys out the pram and told them I'll never be posting on there again.
