whats the quickest way to get money into my abbey postal isa

Seems a bit odd that they'd only allow postal requests for a BACS transfer to be done - I suppose it means you can't try paying more than £3000 in a year
yeah i have to say i find it odd too. while the point is higher interest for postal transactions, no work is involved in having a bacs payment in. if you get away with it, why not!!Are we likely to hit problems with Abbey in future, even sticking to the correct subscription limits?
its possible someone might realise that bacs'ing has hapened on your account and send back any future ones but to be honest i doubt it. more trouble than its worth really. It's a Postal ISA I have, opened in May 2003 so not quite 2 years but almost! At the time base rates were 3.75% and the Postal ISA was 4.3% on the top interest tier so was the best around.
The single good rate on all balances came along 12 months later, just as I was thinking of transferring to Intelligent Finance - glad I didn't!
i stand corrected. sorry jim. must be thinking of something else but i was sure we'd only launched p.isa last summer. maybe i only noticed it last summer with the rate increase.

If you don't have Internet banking, how can you find out whether the BACS transfer has arrived safe and sound? Do you have to wait until the next statement arrives? Do they send an acknowledgement once your full 3k allowance has been used?
On a similar note, is it possible to register for Abbey internet banking if you only have a postal ISA account? The website seems to reckon not, but I was wondering if anyone had got around that? ?Cider Country Solar PV generator: 3.7kWp Enfinity system on unshaded SE (-36deg azimuth) & 45deg roof0 -

That's the only problem with BACSing it. You won't get any confirmation until your 6 monthly statement arrives - so make sure you type in the sort code and account number correctly!!0 -
