Unhappy with sky

Hi All,
Stumbled upon this forum by chance so hello everyone
Right, here's the story:
I've been with sky over ten years now and have sky HD on two TVs as well as having had broadband for the last five years
Since around two months ago I have been continually having problems with the broadband, being disconnected for no reason etc until yesterday when the router decided to pack up altogether and hasn't worked since (all I have is power, no other lights)
I ring up sky yesterday evening to see what the problem was and was told I have their first ever router and it had basically given up the ghost: I was then told it was out of its year warranty and that I could buy the new "Sky Hub" router for a "bargain price of £40" I agreed to this as I run my business through the Internet so have no little choice but to have Internet- At the time I thought that I am paying £40 for something that is not my fault yet I'm continuing paying sky for broadband when I not getting it!
I was even less amused when I was watching tv this morning and saw an advert from sky telling new customers they could get the hub for free of you join the broadband scheme
I decided this evening to call Sky and was told they can offer me 20 percent off my TV for the next 12 months but that I have to pay for the hub as I am an existing customer
I finally think I have no choice but to leave sky and possibly go with BT vision, I have been looking at getting sky movies but an extra £15 on the £60 already I pay a month is more then I could afford, yet I keep getting told by my friends who have just joined sky about all these swanky offers they were offered to entice them imp subscribing
Does being a loyal customer for over ten years now get you nowhere?
Thanks all

cancel and you will either get past straight to retentions for them to offer you a deal or you will get a phone call later from retentions asking you to stay.
Work out what they have to offer you to stay and if you get that offer stay, if not move but BT vision is not without it's problems so you best work out what is best for you and try and get that deal rather than just leaving and thinking you will find better elsewhere.
I agree £60 sounds loads for a package without films, I have just signed up with EE for phone line and BB for £16.50 a month, I have freesat too, so your paying nearly £45 more for sky sports!...glad I'm not into sports is all I can say.0 -
Just buy a standard wireless modem/router on eBay for a fiver?
But, as above, as long as you speak to retentions and not CS, you will almost certainly be able to blag a new one FOC.
All the Sky equipment is your, it's not leased, so once out of the 12m warranty it's your responsibility, not theirs.
PS: if you are running a business on a residential contract, you are in breach of the T&C's anyway, so don't try to use that as a bargaining tool.
Sky to BT would be a very bad move, and BTV is not a substitute for a Sky sub-it's just Freeview with some on-demand content via broadband,No free lunch, and no free laptop

Or you may get neither like us (£80 month til we cancelled a few weeks ago. Don't hold your breath. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

I rung them up again this morning and they have knocked off the price of my second multiroom (£10) A month for the next 12 months so all in all I have saved 20 percent as well as £10 a month so I am happy

I pay Sky nearly that and I don't have sports, films, HD or multiroon either:
Entertainment plus: £25
Fibre Broadband: £12.50
Line rental: £12.50
Sky Talk: £5
Plus the OP has two HD subscriptions (and presumably 1 Multiroom sub) which would be at least another £20pm0 -
