sammyroser - packets often have way too many seeds in so perhaps try to find someone to split the cost/packets - I have cucamelon so will be following your progress!

  • Just been looking at the real seed site.. are the cucamelons the same as the melothrie?

I've been doing some research and I have discounted asparagus pea as everyone says unless you get them very young they are fibrous... although James is quite specific about cutting them into little kisses before stir frying!
Electric daisies look fun but clearly have quite an effect! Clare's face in that video is epic.
I might go for achocha on realseeds as I can't get peppers to grow.
    Also looking for Warrigal Greens.
Not sure where to get chick pea seeds.. unless I just plant the ones in my larder!
I'm going to give musk melon and the strawberry popcorn thingy a go.
    Anyone want to share seeds?

Try Moreveg.com they have many of the seeds in smaller packets for less. Good luck with the electric daisies - they scare me to bits. My problem will be where am I going to put everything I want to try.

Radiohelen I am going to plant the dried ones in my cupboard. Another forum I visit has done this the previous year with mixed results but as it will cost next to nothing plan on giving it a go!

My sister got me some yacon syrup for Christmas and I think we'll both be growing the tubers this year if we can find some - the nearest comparison I can think of to the taste is of a fruit molasses with a hint of maple syrup.
From what i read you make the syrup by juicing the tubers and then cooking the juice down
