Hermes threw Nexus over gate!

How do you know it wasn't lowered gently with a hook or some other means?
Although, they're still culpable of leaving it in an unsecured location and exposed to the elements.0 -

I do feel for the OP as this is a valuable item.
I have often wandered how these, relatively, delicate hardware items, suffer in the whole logistics chain not just the final handover as I buy most stuff over the internet these days.
Perhaps a courier/sorting handler would like to tell us whether our fears are justified.?"If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

At least you know it's sturdy!

They're double boxed and well padded, if usual Amazon style packing, so negligible risk of damage. It's the security aspect that is apalling. No free lunch, and no free laptop

If I were you, I wouldn't open the package and turn it on.
I assumed the package have to be signed. You could have wait a day or two and pretend you haven't see the package in your garden and see what happened.0 -
I would report that item has not been received. I would do that everytime a courier thought it safe to just throw into my unsecured garden.
By doing so, your effectively then stealing from the company you bought the item from. The courier in turn could potentially then lose there job and be classed as a thief. Or even worse the courier could make an example and press charges. (yes the latter is an extreme probability but is possible)Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -

Sorry , dont know how to do a double quote, macman, it actaully wasnt double boxed, it was just the Google Nexus box placed in a parcel bag.0 -
Items like that have to be signed for. So the odds are that the courier has forged your signature.
So yes, you should certainly report it! And see what is shown on the Hermes tracking system:

Just tracked it through Hermes and it is entered as:
"Delivered to outbuilding"!!0 -

You could just say you found it later under some rubbish.
If the courier is throwing things, or even dropping things over gates because they CBA to redeliver then they shouldn't be doing the job.
To be fair I am sure if you make your point strongly enough to JL I am sure they will look into anyway.
We are lucky in that we have a convenient Waitrose so always go click and collect. Not sure about the Nexus but other products are their next day to pick up when it suits. Doesn't mean it hasn't been dropped somewhere."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....
