Help with Slow Solicitor

We spoke to the people we were buying from quite frequently once we realised their conveyancer was particularly slow. They applied pressure as did our conveyancer and we got there eventually, although he did basically flat out refuse to exchange on an afternoon when all parties were ready and decided it could wait until the next morning, despite HIS clients pushing for it as they were moving a long way and wanted to confirm everything ASAP.
Got quite annoyed when the EA called our solicitor for an update when we'd basically been good to go on exchange for a week or two.
Oh, and for sense of timescale. Offer in start of may, cash purchase, exchanged mid August and completed the following week0 -
There are now strict rules governing solicitors with regards to complaints and they won't want a complaint on their books as it will increase their Professional Indemnity Insurance premium.
I would suggest that you tell the estate agent that you are considering contacting the Legal Ombudsman if they continue to slow the conveyancing process down - may be the proverbial rocket you are hoping for...0 -

The OP can't complain though as it isn't their solicitor.0 -
You could ask the EA to start marketing your property again, and let the EA tell the buyer that this is happening and why.
You could also keep on at your own solicitor to keep chasing, and ask your own solicitor for what they are doing to move things forward.0
