Here’s some ideas:
From Euston to Oxford Circus on underground Victoria line, walk down Regent Street, have a look around Carnaby Street, carry on down to Piccadilly Circus, then Leicester Square then on to Trafalgar Square, then keep going to London Eye (if you like walking).
Or from Trafalgar Square you can get the number 9 bus to Knightsbridge to see Harrods.
Google maps can show you the routes.
Tfl journey planner can show underground and bus routes and if there are any engineering works.
Oyster cards are £5 deposit (you can get a refund at Euston underground when you hand them back – check at the ticket office what time it closes). You will need to top them up as well.
If you’re hungry whilst near Carnaby Street, there is a Chinese restaurant called Cha Cha Moon, (15-21 Ganton Street) plates of noodles for around £7, the restaurant is canteen style, long tables shared with other people, I like the food there. Or you could go to China Town which is a 10 min walk from Carnaby Street.
If you’re hungry around the London Eye, there’s lots of restaurants on the South Bank, like Giraffe, Strada, Eat.
Weather on Sunday in London is 8 degrees cloudy and sunny, but take a brolley, gloves, scarf, comfy shoes, fully charged camera etc
Have fun

Euston to the Eye via Harrods involves a lot of faffing about on the tube but I guess it's your choice. I would book for the Eye - you'll still have a queue though. There are usually some nice food stalls behind the Royal Festival Hall.0

Just had a thought, can I book for the eye online if I use the 2 for 1 train ticket voucher?
I am assuming not? Can I go to the desk and book for a later time in the day with a 2 for 1, or is it a walk on offer only?
Thanks (Really excited!)£100 - £10,0000 -

That will mean two lots of queues - one for the ticket booth and one to get on the Eye. Why not just book a slot in advance?

This was great, but parts not for the young, infirm or elderly and was a full day.
Start early at london eye, got to westminster, use city cruse boat (the one they do the great commentary on of all the river landmarks) to Greenwich.
Go up Greenwich hill look at 0 longitude and the observatory museum.
Depending on interest, check on line the times when tower bridge is opening and be there.
End up doing the tower bridge tour (entrance north side of the river).
Also a visit to St Katherines dock is a not too bad.0 -
Thanks everyone, we had a brilliant day. We arrived into Euston Station at 10.58 just in time for the 2 minute silence, it was amazing to see the whole station just stop what they were doing and pay their respects.
We then got the tube to Waterloo to go on the eye, we upgraded our BOGOF tickets to fast track, we were on in 10 minutes and it was a brilliant experience. I know its expensive but it was such a beautiful day, the views were lovely, and a bloke proposed to his girlfriend when we got to the top!
We then decided we would do the open top bus tour( I wanted the duck tour but was out voted!), We did part of the yellow route, got off and followed part of the walking tour and then followed half the red route. We walked around Hyde park had a hot dog and went around Harrods, we then went to Oxford Road and starting at Primark (popped in for a few bits that the kids wanted!) we walked the full length of Oxford street taking pictures of the xmas lights which were amazing!
Popped in a few few shops and then we walked to Euston station, got in Nando's at 7.30pm and were back on our train home at 9.20.
Thanks everyone for all your tips, I wouldn't of had a clue where to start. We are planning a weekend break next year when we can stay for a show, and fit in much more things. Overall though we had a brilliant day, I could sleep for a week now!
£100 - £10,0000 -
If you plan in advance, it is possible to get some bargains. In April, the travelodge right next to Euston is £43 for a family room. The Kings cross ones are a tenner cheaper, but not as new. The Covent Garden one is £41. It is really just off New Oxford St, but very central.0

Glad you had a good day miamoo, the weather was lovely as long as you were wrapped up warm!
Sounds like you did loads and made the most of your time in London!0 -
If you bought one of the hot dogs off a street cart near Hyde Park, then you are lucky you didn't end up with food poisoning. Most of them are completely unlicensed to trade and operate with, shall we say, a distinct lack of hygiene. As do the people operating them...No free lunch, and no free laptop
