I received my refund from MustHave100 today for the Vista Home Basic upgrade.
I was told it could take up to 6 months to receive the refund, but 30 days was more the norm. I actually received it in 11 days (7 working days) after sending the receipt. Very pleased.
The only very slightly negative point, was that the refunded amount did not include the delivery cost or the VAT I paid - it wasn't a mistake, you just don't get the delivery cost and VAT refunded. I'm told their website is going to be amended to make that clear. That said, the whole deal and service has been excellent. Just waiting for the 3 year HP warranty now.

Now that you have your money refunded is there anything to stop you returning the box unopened for a full refund? Ie Double money back? There is no intelligent life out there ... ask any goldfish!0

Well my core 2 duo 1.8GHz is way faster than my old 3.4GHz Pentium 4 even on ''non dual core optimized software''
I think that all this is nonsense anyway as there are other factors to take into account when looking at processors such as cache, bus etc. and they make a huge difference to speed as well. You also need to factor in other components in the system. RAM makes a big difference...
All I am saying is that the Dell deal is a very good one for the price regardless of weather Dual Core makes a difference to the speed or not.
Gary892, trust me, give it up, you are wrong.
The reason why Intel have changed their naming convention to cut out the mhz rating (Eg your core2duo E6300) is to stop confusing people like you.
You cannot directly compare mhz ratings like that of processors. The reason why your core2duo (at 1.86ghz) is much faster than your single core p4 3.4ghz, is because of the processor architecture. it has nothing to do at all with it being dual core.
It is simply a MUCH more efficient processor design. Even if you compared the E6300 to a dual core 3.4ghz P4 it would still eat it for breakfast.
have a read through some benchmark results on tomshardware, you could learn a few things.0 -
oh, Cache speed and bus speed do not make a 'huge' difference. 5-10% performance difference across the ranges.0
