Virgin promised me National Geographic & I don't have it.

I called up to cancel & ended up getting a TV package with them. I told the guy on the phone all I really wanted was discovery & national geographic & a tivo box so he sold me the L package.
Now it's all been plumbed in, I find out I don't have it. (I do have discovery but not National Geographic which I've just checked on the website comes with the XL tv)
Has anyone else experienced this - not getting what they were promised. How should I deal with it?
Thank you.

what pack did they promise you then?0

I didn't know there was 3 different packages till I looked it up today. I spoke to the guy and said the only 2 channels I was interested in were these 2. So we worked from there. I was very clear but by the end of it I'd been on the phone for an hour & I trusted the chap. Maybe I can ask if they recorded the conversation - not sure I can get access to it.0

Yes, you're right. I guess I will see if they respond and if not I'll cancel. It's just that I was speaking to disconnections, and I was REALLY specific and I feel like I've been had - but I may not be able to prove it. Thank you.0

They really should have recorded the call. If they didn't, they have no proof of what contract you agreed to.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
Phone up and complain. I think they can just switch on the channels. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

they need to prove that you agreed to it too, it works both ways.
give them a ring and cancel, they may just give you the channel you want, if not then you don't want it anyway.
Consider Freeview or Freesat as Virgin is a lot of money just for 1 or 2 channels, and some of the programmes make it too the Free channels anyway.
I too would only want those channels but prefer to miss out or wait, than pay those kind of prices.0 -
We have the L package and have National Geographic Wild, National Geographic, Sky Arts 1 and 2 to name but a few. Phone up and complain. That's what I did some time ago and they gave me all these extra channels to appease me. We have been loyal customers though and I pointed that out to them. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

These are the channels you are entitled to with the L package. As I said we have National Geographic but I rang them up and was a p in the a so they gave them to me.The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0
