Wet leaves from neighbours tree on path - who clears?

I keep my side pruned but he refuses to prune his side even though I have offered to share the cost with a tree pruner of his choice.
As a result his side is very overgrown and sheds a lot of leaves at this time of year.
Bear in mind that, if you have 'pruned' your side correctly (ie not back to a stump), it will also be dropping plenty of leaves, most of which will be falling on your drive. It seems a bit unfair to blame your neighbour.0 -
What a sad state of affairs - just rake them up.
There is a huge willow near us that sheds it's leaves in our garden and a huge ash that sheds it's seeds so we end up with hundreds of ash saplings germinating. I'd rather not have to pull them out but that would mean no trees. Meep.
As of this year I'm going to pot them up and sell them on as I suspect there will be a huge market for them in about 3 years time.If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
Surely common sense should prevail here?
I agree with the above.
Is it really so important ? It is no wonder that "neighbour wars" that last for many years are common.
I would say that (although a pain) if the leaves are on your path, then you would sweep them up.
we also do not know other facts - eg. you may be an able bodied 25 year old and your neighbour could be a disabled 80 year old (in which case I would say it would be a nice gesture if you swept your neighbours path whilst you were at it !).0 -

If you don't like leaves then a tenement or high rise might be a more appropriate place to live.0

If the neighbour came round to your property to sweep the leaves up, fell over and broke his arm, who would be to blame?
Or if the neighbour accidently caused some damage, broke a window or such like?0 -
Now this discussion is getting really silly, if you are worried about leaves and what happen if........
Just hibernate for the next few weeks as its only going to get worse.0 -

I think you'll find that selling ash trees (even potted ones) is now illegal since the bloody foreigners infected all our trees as part of their masterplan for only euro trees to be allowed.
Apparently the infection came about because we were sending seeds to Holland, they were growing them into baby trees and sending them back. On what planet does that make sense? I expect it's to do with some sort of EU agricultural policy subsidy
As to the OP "who sweeps the leaves" the answer is "anyone who cares"0 -
So having successfully annihilated our native elm tree population, the Dutch are about to do the same to our ash trees?
I thought they were our friends.0 -
