operation christmas in my house this week. i have got 7 weeks left at school - well 6.5 and i want to get everything done before the children and i break up. cake and puddings are done. christmas stockings and christmas eve bags are done and then the next thing for me to do is get them all wrapped. i really want to be organised this year. i have made a very good start.
dinner tonight is a bit of a freezer clear out. were having massive jacket potatoes and then will use one portion of chilli, one portion of curry, one portion of prawns from the freezer and the others will have cheese and beans. operation christmas again - i need to get freezer defrosted. i did it three months ago - its so bad again im thinking i need a new freezer as surely it should not need doing that much.
ds has come home from school when i left at 2. he had been feeling poorly and been sitting in the library since 1 as he felt poorly so i took him with me when i left.
meals are still on the up did 49% hot dinner today again. really good for that kitchen. not long before i give up my second job and then ill only have the school to concentrate on.. cant wait:j:j:j

RR - I won't start Xmas stuff til Dec ;)

Busy day! Spent the morning assessing education files whilst fielding phonecalls. Unfortunately had to dismiss 2 of the work kids as they didn't turn up to their work placements this week and they were beyond final warnings for non-attendance  I felt bad they are nice kids, but they will never learn if people keep giving them hundreds of chances, if it was a job they would have been sacked weeks ago. They will both be allowed to do the course again after 6mths if they apply and show that they have changed. Spent this afternoon shifting more blooming furniture as we have had some more bits donated.

OS wise - recycling sorted, WM been on and drying on radiators, packed lunch made, LO takeaway for tea

    Have a good evening all

We at the moment are absolutely skint until 23rd of the month, our cupboards/fridge/freezer are almost empty and we have £2 per day to feed the 2 of us (and im 37 weeks pregnant and starving all the time lol).
Anyway on Saturday a good friend of ours is coming to replace 70% of our double glazing windows as they have blown and there is condensation in between the glass panels, he is doing this completely free of charge
I asked a while back if there was anything I could do to say thank you and he requested that I bake him some Chocolate cakes.
Anyway I was only told yesterday that he would be coming on Saturday and thankfully I had some ingredients in the house but not all.
I wanted to get them made today as Im suffering with SPD and know that standing making cakes for hours is going to knock me out for a few days and my dad and his girlfriend are also coming on Saturday so I needed to make sure I was rested so I could "play host" also I know my cakes will last that time without going bad.

I ended up chopping and changing the recipes to accommodate the amount of eggs we had in, then I used the last of a jar of chocolate spread to replace the cocoa i didn't have in.
I usually make buttercream but didn't have any butter left so have used the last of some hot chocolate we had in the cupboard with icing to make the topping for the cakes.
I have just taken them out of the oven and I am thrilled because they have turned out perfectly fine :D
I made a tray bake for my dad and his girlfriend (as they are buying our babies pushchair!) and it just fell out the tin in one piece, no sticking or anything (i used fry light as id run out of greaseproof paper).
I also made 18 cupcakes for the friend (and hubby will have some to take to work to thank his boss for letting him have the afternoon off to take me to hospital monday).

Then Hubby went up to Morrisons and has managed to get 2 cornish pasties, 2 mince & onion pies and 2 other random pies for 29p each which is 3 days of dinners for us (not the healthiest but its just been one of those months).

I know it probably seems silly to some but when you feel a bit crappy a day like today when it all seems to work out just makes you feel so great :D

bitsy  i would say relax but doesn't sound like an option

Evening all. I've been nackered all day (had a good night so it's only fair i suffer!) so not got much done, did a really short day at work and am home trying to get through the mounds of washing. Sheets are in the dryer but it's a combi (and rubbish!) so they will have to come out soon as I need to put another load on. Other than that, tonight will mostly be spent drinking tea in bed and briefly helping my housemate with job applications. He really doesn't have a way with words and I find CV checking quite fun :D

Well done chirpy chick, not only for the successful baking with what you had in but on standing doing it with SPD

    evening all,

Cold and miserable here, would love a couple of days with some sun, would be nice even if it stayed cold.

Need to go through my gift chest as not sure that I have much which will be welcomed by anybody...charity shop will benefit methinks. We are only buying presents for children this year so not too much to get hopefully.

We seem to have been adopted by a cat, I hope so as have missed having one since Thunder was killed on the road....trouble is that Mossy is not fond of cats but he will have to learn....

Dinner to-day was home made soup for me (2 bowls) and OH had the steak etc which he didn't feel up to eating yesterday, had the last of the brack which I bought in Aldi last week.

Feeling rather virtuous as I made all the breadcrumbs for my turkey stuffing this morning, there was rather a lot of stale bread around, now safely in freezer for Christmas.

Just over 3 weeks until DD3 comes from Oz for a month, really looking forward to it, although she will have so many friends to catch up on that may not see very much of her at all.

Hugs to all in pain of any kind, take things as easy as possible, stay safe sleep well.

Kind thoughts for you DD to-morrow JackieO.
