New flat and internet

I'm moving into a new flat at the weekend and I'm trying to find a decent internet offer.
I'm not bothered about a bundle as such, I'm going to be on freeview for TV but I'm aware of the need for line rental the majority of the time when getting broadband. I'd like unlimited downloads and a decent speed, though it doesn't have to be top notch. Budget wise obviously as good of a deal as possible.
I've searched around on here, done a bit of reading, compared offers in relation to my postcode and done a search on samknows but I don't feel any the wiser (I'm fine once it's sorted but this getting internet installed lark goes right over my head!)
According to samknows..

Sky LLU is be the obvious choice if you want an unlimited service, otherwise you might look at O2 (especially if you have an O2 mobile to register for the £5 discount).
All ADSL broadband requires a working line-which requires you to pay line rental.
VM cable is the only exception, and is available in your exchange area.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Thank you.
I have looked into Sky today and I think that's what I will go for. I tried to start the process off only for them to say I couldn't due to a line not being available for that side of things. I know there is one in the flat, however I'm not sure if it's active so I'm assuming this is the problem and I'll have to speak with the agents/ landlady about it. That'll be a whole new thing to get my head around!
Thank you again.0 -
Plug a phone into the socket, test for a dial tone...no landlady required. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
